Trade down with Denver or Phoenix?
Ok so the Texans pick right after us in the first round.
Most people will say they will take a QB. Is Brock O the man in Denver? Does Phoenix need an heir apparent QB? Could one of those teams trade with us to swoop that last pale Blue Chip QB before the Texans take it? Would you trade spots (29th or 31st) ? Not sure what to ask for after the swap....a third and a 4th? |
Re: Trade down with Denver or Phoenix?
yes, I was thinking the same thing. There is good depth at DL and the Redskins can still get a good one at pick #30. The Redskins still need help almost everywhere .... WR, TE, C, RB, DL, LB, CB, S. And a back-up QB.
Hopefully half of their needs are filled in free agency. And half can be filled in the draft.... 5 picks in the first four rounds would be nice |
Re: Trade down with Denver or Phoenix?
Did you just call them the fucking Phoenix Cardinals?
Get out. |
Re: Trade down with Denver or Phoenix?
As for the question, yes I would definitely take a hard look at any trade down scenario. Whatever the draft chart says, I'd take. The more chances you give McCloughan the more I like our chances.

Re: Trade down with Denver or Phoenix?
if they go with Denver, I'd ask to throw in an ounce of blue dream or og kush

Re: Trade down with Denver or Phoenix?
I'm also wondering if Houston is worried about not getting a quarterback and trading up above us.

Re: Trade down with Denver or Phoenix?
We'd be in much better position to speculate on every team's motivation to make draft day moves once we get through free agency. Knowing where Sam Bradford and Ryan Fitzpatrick end up can influence things.

Re: Trade down with Denver or Phoenix?
Agree with schneed. SM with more picks is a good thing. Not every draft is going to be a home run like 2015 but he can obviously find talent. Anything extra in the 2/3/4 area could end up being a real good player for us.
Value-wise with either team (and without looking at what picks they have) we'd roughly need either teams' 1 and 2 or 1, 3 and 4. We'd also probably need to swap a later round pick to even it out as we win on value by a slight bit without doing so. Again that is a very rough calculation and not every team lives and dies by the chart so who knows. |
Re: Trade down with Denver or Phoenix?
two extra high picks to trade down a few spots would be a no brainer....it sounds like to much compensation

Re: Trade down with Denver or Phoenix?
After getting stripped of some picks for Deflategate the Patriots have quietly restocked their draft.
They have: 1 2nd 2 3rds 2 4ths 1 5th 4 6ths 1 7th If there is still a blue chip wide receiver on the board when we pick I could see them making a trade with us. |
Re: Trade down with Denver or Phoenix?
the pats always get a bunch of comp picks.

Re: Trade down with Denver or Phoenix?
Comp picks being tradeable start this year or next year? I'm looking forward to that, more trades in the draft are a good thing.

Re: Trade down with Denver or Phoenix?
I'd just about assume SM is trading down, maybe more than once. He wants that magic number 12 picks.

Re: Trade down with Denver or Phoenix?
Maybe it's because I want to win now like the impatient bastard that I am, but I get nervous when we're adding a ton of solid guys. I want a few stars here and there. I totally trust Scot, and this is coming from a place of cynicism, but maybe stay put with our first and trade down later? :/
