Vikings Pre game thread
HUGE and I mean HUGE game Sunday! Min is really bad on offense BUT... we are very AVG on def..
Keys to the game 1. Pass Pro (NO TW is a huge ?) 2. Off must score in the RZ every trip down. 3. Get to Bradford, they have a bunch of holes on the OL and our pass rush should take over. Overall I think if we are a playoff team we will win this game at home. Skins 26 Viks 17 Cousins 285 yards 2tds Reed 88 yards 1 td DJAX 75 yard TD catch in the first qtr |
Re: Vikings Pre game thread
Redskins 28
Vikings 17 Crowder 111 yards 1 TD Reed 114 yards 1 TD Kelly 103 yards 1 TD |

Our offense is our strength, the defense needs to step it up. It is time for Norman to get a pick or two and have the pass rush register 6+ sacks! !!! |
Re: Vikings Pre game thread
Cousins is going to have to be solid under pressure. Good defensive front, down Trent Williams, he's going to need to avoid the brain fart and stare down the gun barrel.

Re: Vikings Pre game thread
Watched the lions @ vikings game.
Their offense is pretty weak but not as weak as the score suggests. Kicker Walsh let them down big time, a missed extra point and a blocked field goal (not entirely on him) cost them a lot. As said, if Barry brings pressure, will be alright, our D can handle them. They did a great job against the really good Bengals offense, while Norman was coming back from a concussion, and dealing with a wrist injury I hope he healed since. Their D was looking pretty good, against a not so good offense. Stafford had some clutch moments, including the final drive, as often. Let's see if Callahan can help this O-line work efficiently without TW. |
Re: Vikings Pre game thread
I just want a win....I don't care how it is achieved...I don't care how bad anybody plays....I just want a W after these last 2 brutal games.

Offense
I believe the Skins will have problems with the Vikings pass rush. They're going to miss TW. To alleviate this expected problem, I would like to see the Skins take the approach that the Colts took last week against the Packers. Andrew Luck looked for his first option and if it wasn't open he threw the ball away. He did not hold the ball. He lived to fight another down and avoided negative yardage. Also, our OL, TE's, and, yes, even WR's have got to stop taking so many procedure penalties. This has hurt us throughout the season. To net it out, avoid negative yardage on offense to win. Defense On defense, I think the key will be to get to Bradford early and often. That's because I think Bradford can be rattled and, although he has started the season well, his true identity is as a choke artist. If there was ever a game where exotic blitzes can rule the day, this is it. I would draw up something with S'ua Cravens on the first Vikings series, if not the first Vikings play - and I'd make sure they got the ball first. They may run the ball on us a lot but they'll have to pass sometimes. I want Bradford to be scared every time he drops back to pass. Sooner or later, he'll panic and give us a key turnover. |

Bradford can be a really good QB behind a great O-line, but as soon as things get tricky, he chokes. Of course KC will have some bad throws at times, some of them at critical points. But he's able to deliver under pressure. Against the Bengals, 1:56 left in regulation, we're down 3 points, ball on their 42, 3 and 13, 8 men blitz, Kirk completes it to Crowder and get blasted. How many QBs make this throw? |

No, he's not Jackson, but he's a big, fast TE. We'll probably see more two-TE sets, then we've used all season, on Sunday. Rotate Grant and Ross, as well. |

Re: Vikings Pre game thread
Definitely need Hopkins to get his.confidence back on track...
O line really needs to step up and our gameplan needs to dictate their pass rush, not the other way around. We will see if Jay and Co are up to the task. I want to see alot of movement on offense, we will need to confuse the defense, i really think its time we take charge of the game pace and LOS on both sides of the ball.. take some shots deep early maybe. Make them stay out of the box so we can run the ball and set up Cousins on the PA game... On D we have seen the blueprint for beating the vikings... DO NOT GIVE BRADFORD TIME... period. If the eagles beat this team up defensively and we dont i will be dissapointed and again let down by Joe Barry who if i had my way would be sent packing end of season if not sooner. Tough game, i hope we dont lose or tie. |
