When is Enough ,Enough? - Skins Style

Gruden has to let players go. He can't figure that out. The list is so long on players that he has kept way past their expiration date. Maybe it is the FO also, Doug Williams as a former player maybe tries to give 88th chances, but this tweet from Schefter is abysmally stupid of the Skins.
Jay Gruden today on how soon Colt McCoy might return from a broken leg that ended his 2018 season: “Oh man, it might not be the end of camp, it might be two or three weeks into the season. We don't know yet.”
If Colt is in that condition, the Skins need to make an injury settlement, and move on. This of course begs the question of the medical staff, if Colt feels that the Skins ended his career due to negligence or malfeasence his legal reps may be pushing for a severe injury settlement to go into retirement.

Regardless, Gruden and the FO ought to have cut players like Doctson, Perrine and the long list from the past far before then.

SO, the question of this rant is - what does everyone think will be that LAST STRAW that brings either Gruden, Doug Williams, or even BA down?

I was surprised we still even had Perine. How many rushing yards does he have in the preseason, -20? Agreed with Doctson, I think he's a big time bust. The McCoy situation is certainly an interesting one. Overall, this organization is very much abysmally ran.

Gruden does have an issue with letting people go which I don't understand. Perine stinks, Doctson is a major disappointment and neither of them play special teams so they should be at the fore front to be cut.

Yeah he has that "Buddy system" BS going.. If the players are flat out not any good, it's time to cut loose. Doc, Colt , Perine , and Flowers should all be cut

I don't get the deal with Perine, he seems to be regressing and he wasn't that good to begin with. As far as Gruden talking about Colt, he always has talked down injuries and is way too optimistic on when a player can get back. Listening to him on the radio he would often talk of players like they could play the coming Sunday and the guys would end up out for a month or more.

"He's getting there, we are hoping he can play soon"

Always something like that

:laughing2 This question is hilarious! Snyder probably thinks things are going well. He truly doesn't know shit from Shineola.

Well there was a last straw with Vinnie. I think BA is getting close to it, I am curious what people think it will be. Does it take a purely bad year 4 wins or less. With Vinnie, it came after a terrible loss to NYG if I remember right. Or is there something in the TW situation that could break Snyder's will.

I don't agree that DS doesn't see the fan discontent, I think he is loyal to BA like he was to Vinnie BECAUSE BA serves the same purpose Vinnie did which was to insulate him from the media backlash and fan vacillations.

Speaking of Perine, was listening to sports talk radio, not sure if I was on 910 or 980 A.M. in the Richmond area, as I flip back and forth. It was a jewelry store commercial, I think it was Diamonds Direct as the reception can get spotty. Perine was talking about getting his lady a bigger diamond ring. I wonder what a 4th-5th string tailback banks doing a radio commercial? Maybe he can have a career after the Redskins, when they hopefully send him packing.

BA is already on borrowed time. Hard to know how much input Gruden really has in making personnel decisions so I'm not going to kill him on that. Hard to think he really has any sort of final authority on those matters.

Colt is just the latest example, but I agree. The fact that he thinks Colt is a reliable option at this stage of his career, coming off that injury, is questionable. Look at the Eagles, they thought so highly of Nate Sudfeld (waiver wire pickup ex-Redskin 6th rounder) that they put a 2nd round tender on him.

Anyways I took the long route of saying I agree Gruden tends to hold onto players too long. Belichick is notorious for dumping guys in their early 30's, no matter how popular they are, Richard Seymour as an example.

And Bruce Allen won't be fired, after the stadium deal gets announced he will announce his retirement into an advisory/Danny S. racquetball partner role while saying it was his ambition of the last 10 years to deliver a stadium. Of course, we're still several years away from that happening so buckle up folks.

I was just coming to rant Erik Flowers. Cut him and monitor to upcoming release wire. It makes zero sense at his cap hit to survive cuts. None

I thought Flowers played poorly but Smoot said he had a good game. I heard other say something similar. He missed on two plays but in the running game he was down field smashing linebackers.

What is frustrating with Flowers is that when he engages with a defender he's actually very good but he completely whiffs far too often.

He single-handedly stopped 3 drives in the 1st half against Atlanta.

Can't have that. :nono:
