Happy New Year - Ring in the year with a wish and a warning
Happy New Year to all who have suffered and survived (Snyder's ownership or any other true hardship)
I hope each and every one of you masochistic ;) washington fans has an awesome year! :cheers I want to offer a chance for us to put in one wish for the new ownership and one word of warning. My wish - please change the name. No fanfare, no drawn out psuedo fan pleaser thing. Just pick a new one, and change it. Then build a team that makes us cheer for it. My warning - You get one chance make it count! The team has put itself in a perfect position for a new ownership to right the ship. The fanbase is dying to get behind the team (see the first home game this year). Be thorough, be decisive, and bring back a franchise we can be proud of. |
Re: Happy New Year - Ring in the year with a wish and a warning
Wish: We nail the GM hire
Warning: Don't piss into the wind/Don't force a QB pick if you don't love the QB |
Re: Happy New Year - Ring in the year with a wish and a warning
In 1-week's time, Rivera will no longer be the GM or HC. 2024 is going to be the year of the Redwolf(ves).

Re: Happy New Year - Ring in the year with a wish and a warning
Yeah, changing the name will not happen anytime soon. But at least, we will clean out the house this year.
Happy new year! |
Re: Happy New Year - Ring in the year with a wish and a warning
Wish: Harris operates with a go-forward vision informed by his experiences with the Sixers and Devils and enables his new GM to execute freely.
Warning: while the fan base may carry the scars of 25 years of Snyder ownership and most recently 4 years of poor roster-building decisions by Rivera, operate with a short memory. The sins of your predecessors have nothing to do with you and your vision. If you want to trade up for a star QB or take a DE over another QB, don’t avoid doing so because of how similar moves worked out in this town previously. If your analytics-focused vision supports it, do it. Some fans are going to bitch no matter what you do. Ignore it, we’re not rational after all these years and we desperately need someone who is. |
Re: Happy New Year - Ring in the year with a wish and a warning
Hear hear!
Wish: That we hit the mark with the 2nd pick, whoever we take and start the new regime off with a true talent leading the team. Preferably Harrison or Maye for me, though I'd be happy with trading back a little to get a good haul. Perfect scenario, Pats trade up a spot for Williams, if Chicago stay put and draft Harrison, and we then nab Maye plus extra picks. Warning: Division is initial priority. Build a team to aim for a 6-0 division result and the rest will follow. |

Among being a terrible god awful football team, we have no identity at all. A name change is just going to be too difficult. Change it when we go into a new stadium. I don't want to see those all blacks ever again. Get back to being us. |
Re: Happy New Year - Ring in the year with a wish and a warning
Wish: Hope the new ownership hires some good talent evaluators and GM/coach and stay out of their way.
Warning: If we don't learn from our past mistakes, we'll be fucked for decades to come. |
Happy New Year - Ring in the year with a wish and a warning
Wish - win more than we lose
Warning - hire people that know football and stay out of their way |
Re: Happy New Year - Ring in the year with a wish and a warning
My wish is complete cohesion between President/GM/Coach with a franchise building strategy
My warning…don’t fuck up the first high round pick which could be QB. If there is any doubt, you pass. Cohesion with a plan. |

Re: Happy New Year - Ring in the year with a wish and a warning
Wish. We get the QB !!
Warning. The QB pick should be unanimous.. Don't want to hear that there were some in the war room that didn't like the pick .. Everyone has to be onboard .. |
Re: Happy New Year - Ring in the year with a wish and a warning
Wish - Get the QB. Bring back the old uniforms. Get Good GM & HC
Down the road wish - Change the name. Warning - Don't reach on the draft picks. Do not get RW or any other retread QB |

Warning: Don't piss into the wind/Don't force a QB pick if you don't love the QB[/quote] Agreed on both counts. We fuck up picking the wrong qb it will set this franchise back another 3-5 years. Cred I agree, I'd love a name change. But it's not a priority. Whatever the name is I want people to put respect on it because we're a tough team to play. |
