11/4 Trade deadline: Buyers, Sellers or not involved?
The nfl trade deadline is 4pm on Tuesday: 11/4.
We have 3 games before that. If we fall from 3-3 to 3-6; we would have 5 conference losses. Do we cut bait and instead of being a potential buyer; we become sellers. Though if we do fall to 3-6, what players of any value can we trade? Mariota is one. He’d likely get a shot at starting and we can just promote Hartman to Backup qb. Maybe a team like the Jets would give us a 3rd or 4th rounder. We really need picks as we don’t have 2nd or 4th round picks next year. If we do fall to 3-6; season is realistically over as far as playoffs. So, we should have a fire sale. Of course the flip slide is we go 6-3, would we be buyer? We have so few picks next year. |
Re: 11/4 Trade deadline: Buyers, Sellers or not involved?
No way I'm trading Mariota unless it's an unrefusable offer. Hartman was horrible in preseason. Don't want him playing and I'm a ND fan. Other players I may consider if your poor record scenario comes to fruition. Only would buy if AP feels we have a realistic SB shot.

Not involved. Belief is that we're a play-off team so won't be selling and are already short draft picks so won't be buyers.

I agree we'll likely have minimal if any trade action. This thread is arguably 2 weeks/games too early. If we're 5-3 or 4-4 by then, I say no need to panic buy or sell. If we're 3-5 then maybe look at what we can do to strengthen a recovery. No way this staff gives up on the season at that point.

Re: 11/4 Trade deadline: Buyers, Sellers or not involved?
No way do we trade Mariota. Our QB1 is still wearing a knee brace, and Mariota has been very good in the QB2 role. No need to tailor the offense to a qb that has a different skill set. He can step right in, and manage the position. If anything, I think we would need to beef up the back end of the defense.
I think wagner and Luvu have lost a step this year, so LB may need a bump, and secondary feels like a weak spot. Could be argued that scheme is making that part of the lineup underwhelming, but thats a whole different conversation. D def needs some help though. But I, honestly, dont see them as doing it via trading. |

Needs: WR, TE, OC, HC, DC, CB, S, S, CB, K, LB, LB, DE, DE…did I miss anything?

The offensive line are a bunch of soft ass pussies too. They offer absolutely nothing in the run game. 5 fucking pussies. |
Re: 11/4 Trade deadline: Buyers, Sellers or not involved?
We are NOT a playoff team. Not even close. We lucked out last year, and this team still needs more building blocks. Draft defense.

Um….sellers. If anyone will buy.

Not a trade, but I'd give Tyler Lockett, released by the Titans, a call and see how he feels about coming to Washington. He's got to considered a viable #2/3 option.

I would consider this if we have been winning, but at this point, it does look like our playoffs chances have decreased significantly so I would prefer to give our young WRs opportunities to gain experience for next year. |

Titans must be a mess since he requested to be let go.

I don’t expect any big moves as a seller or buyer

Re: 11/4 Trade deadline: Buyers, Sellers or not involved?
We are losing the next 2 games to fall to 3-6 before the trade deadline. I’d trade anyone we can. Season is over then. Even though we’d have a weaker defense ; I’d try to trade Payne. We aren’t likely resigning him; so get what we can for him. A 2nd or 3rd rounder.

Err, Payne is signed through to 2027, and while we have an out in 2026, that would make no sense ($11.2M dead cap). Why the urge to sell core players that are still contributing? With the non-returners we'll have leaving end of this year (inc. Lattimore?) you'll have a gutted roster. We need to build now while JD5 is on his rookie contract, and while we have got too many OOTH players on the roster, we have some promising young ones. Yes we need to move to a younger roster, but selling good players is stupid. |
