Scouting Report

July 8 issue of Sporting News...

"WR Santana Moss will be counted on to be the Redskins' primary deep threat this season, and, if he avoids injuries, he should be able to deliver in the role. Moss is exceptionally fast, gets in and out of breaks smoothly and can make contested catches. Moss (5-10, 185) is small, but his speed and quickness compensate for his lack of size and can even give him an advantage against the bigger cornerbacks who are becoming more prevalent. Moss also could provide a home run threat if he's used on punt returns."

If we want to keep him healthy I'd avoid using him on punt returns.

I agree I would only use him on punt returns if it were a playoff game and we needed some extra explosion, but not during the season...

Re: Scouting Report

Why is a guy who has missed just 2 games in the last 3 years always described as "the injury prone Santana Moss"?

Re: Scouting Report

As much as I would like to see Santana be our return man I think we should avoid using him there. Why put him at risk when Thrash did a good job at returns and Antonio Brown is just as fast and if he can hold on to the ball just as dangerous.

His nickname was sideline santana because he would run out of bounds instead of being tackled but i just think that is smart look at curtis martin. BUt that is a good question why is that, did he have some sort of injury though in the past year? I couldn't care less what the media thinks anymore, we have taken shit forever and i can't wait to stick it in their face.

Let's face it that nickname would be appropriate for the entire Rams recieving corps, and just look how effective they have been.

i know it's a risk but santana could get injured just as easily playing wr as he could returning punts.
if he is the teams best punt returner then i say use him.

I agree. Holt is one of the pansiest receivers I've ever seen. Speed is all you need sometimes.

We have a lot of people that are returners. But Moss is definitly far better than the ones we have. He could be one of the most dominant returns in the league with his moves and speed. Id like to see him out there.
