Dyson or McCants?
Which of these guys do we keep? It looked as if the hand injury to McCants bothered him some during the preseason opener, but otherwise he was solid. Of course Dyson, injured reserve pending, had the textbook sideline catch that all but solidified his spot on the roster. :oink:

Re: Dyson or McCants?
I need to see a couple more games to decide. It's a toss-up to me at this point. That was a very nice catch on the sidelines!

Re: Dyson or McCants?
The only problem I've having is that we can't judge Dyson on that one catch. I hear they're both having drop problems. We'll see how they react next week...

yeah agree, i just need to see more than one catch. but it certainly works in his favor. |
Re: Dyson or McCants?
Dyson. I CAN'T STAND McCants.

Re: Dyson or McCants?
I like McCants. I think he can be a playmaker if ever given a chance. He had nice chemistry with Ramsey a couple years ago also.

I gotta tell ya, celts, MC is getting his shot this year. i hope he makes the most of it. |
Re: Dyson or McCants?
I think this year is it for McCants. If he doesn't step up and make the team, he will be gone from football. He has had opportunities. I wish Taylor Jacobs was healthy, he could be our "big" receiver this year compared to the little guys of Moss and Patten. Gibbs does not like the endzone fade, but that could become Jacob's or McCant's specialty. Let Moss, Patten, Thrash, and Cooley move he chains and then bring in a Jacobs or McCants when we get inside the 10.

Re: Dyson or McCants?
I always like McCants, and I bashed his camp performance more than once, not knowing he had a hand injury or whatever. I do hope that that gets cleared up and we hang on to him. Like Cooley has a knack for getting open in the endzone, McCants gets a small cushion and makes the most of it. He wins jump balls, which is an aspect of the game we lack right now. I haven't seen dyson play much, but I know he's up there in age and would rather have a young guy on the way up on the team, than the opposite. Again, I haven't seen him play much, so I couldn't make that decision, but I'm pulling for McCants.

Re: Dyson or McCants?
whichever can provide some special teams play is the guy they keep. i think it is that simple.

Atleast he has a backup plan:rolleyes: |
Re: Dyson or McCants?
Whats his back up plan? To be gone from football.LOL

Re: Dyson or McCants?
I think McCant's is more talented and I would like to see him succeed, but after visiting his web page last week I really have some questions about what this guy find's important? I believe it's his mind set or lack of a mind set on football that really put's Gibbs off, but I do believe he is the better player, but he does have his work cut out for him we all know Gibbs would really like to replace him, and if Dyson continues to impress he will.

Re: Dyson or McCants?
I think you'd need at least one tall receiver who can out-jump defensive backs in the endzone. But like most others, I need to see more.
Their special teams contributions will be a factor too. |
Re: Dyson or McCants?
McCants has a future in this league whereas Dyson had a great career. I really think McCants could be used well if Gibbs would suit him up. He's the one receiver Ramsey has had for a long time and they really seem to have a rapport. If he makes your QB confortable that alone is worth something.
