Defense Opens Up Against a Rookie
Looks like Kyle Orton is the Openning day starter. Now our defense will be vicious against a rookie. Expect a strecher at the game for the rookie, cause we be comming at him from everywhere.

Re: Defense Opens Up Against a Rookie
We absolutely demolished quinn and the bears last year as fasr as passing goes. They had like 60 yds for the entire game and we sacked quinn a good amount. I expect us to blitz early and often to try and rattle orton in his first NFL start.
However, i think orton is among the leaders this preseason in passing yds and i think the bears as a team are among the leaders in rushing (hope i am not mistaken). Whats up with that?? |
Re: Defense Opens Up Against a Rookie
I am thinking we might blitz once or twice that game.

Re: Defense Opens Up Against a Rookie
yea i just looked it up some stats on nfl.com and found that orton is #7 in the league with 409 passing yds (1 yd ahead of ramsey). Also, the bears have 2 of the top 5 running backs with peterson at #4 having 199yds and jones at #5 having 184yds. I know this is only preseason but for the worst offense last yr this is kind of surprising.

Trust me, GW and company are licking their chops on this one.
I guess Marcus Washington had better get some raw meat ready for ST and turn him loose!!!! |
Re: Defense Opens Up Against a Rookie
Kyle Orton isn't ready for the big league just yet. I don't care how many yards he has right now. I was shocked that Hutchinson was out of the rotation. :oink:

Hutchinson went from the #1 QB last week, to the #4 this week. I guess thats what a 0.0 passer rating will do to you. |
Re: Defense Opens Up Against a Rookie
What a welcome to the NFL. Going up against the most aggressive and physical blitzing team in the league. The kid is gonna get decapitated.

Hum? How many points did the Steelers score on them? |
Re: Defense Opens Up Against a Rookie
1-0 will be a nice way to start the season. We're going to demolish them.
PS - Anyone else notice how Hutchinson and Orton look like Timmy from South Park? Those are two very, very special looking faces. And apparently Grossman is trying to walk like Jimmy. |

Re: Defense Opens Up Against a Rookie
I'll call it now, skunk job on opening day!
Skins win 24-0 A rookie QB making his first start against this D? Are you kidding me? LOL |
Re: Defense Opens Up Against a Rookie
Not to rain on the parade, but Orton is definetly better that Hutch. I was hoping they'd stick with Hutch until AFTER we destroy him. But whatever--I agree that we just might blitz a few times on Sept 11 ;).
