Falcons Cut Price - Are we interested?
I read on redskins.com (ticker) that the Falcons cut Peerless Price??? Ex- Williams guy, do we go get him?
|
Re: Falcons Cut Price - Are we interested?
To be honest, he might be worth a look as long as we can sign him to a decent contract. He may not be a #1, or maybe the Falcons system didn't fit him, but no denying what he did as a #2. Could be a great slot receiver.

I think he was cut primarily for financial reasons, but my gut feeling is that players cut this time of year usually have some baggage attached. |
Re: Falcons Cut Price - Are we interested?
That's true Brud. I doubt we'd get him under the terms that I'd want him, he'd have a contract heavily based on incentives.

Re: Falcons Cut Price - Are we interested?
The only problem is his contract, I think I read somewhere that he's due $2M this year.
Anybody want a 3rd or 4th string WR for $2M? |

Re: Falcons Cut Price - Are we interested?
He was cut early for financial reasons & so he could sign with another team in time to perhaps start in week#1. They did him a favor since they knew they were not going to keep him through the season.
Peerless is a good WR, he was in a system that was not taylored to his style. Peerless is a downfield receiver who utilizes his speed, but with Vick & his tendencies to run & scrammble it made Peerless less attractive since they both were never in sync to start with. Peerless need a pocket passing QB like Ramsey. I would totally give him a look, but I would not over spend on him. I would make him an offer based on performance. Let him earn his way back to a solid contract. |
Re: Falcons Cut Price - Are we interested?
Even though its early I think our offense has had enough chemistry problems that any position player of the caliber available would be at best a second half of the season impact player. I think the skins should focus on players in camp, and ready to play. I don't think we should avoid these players altogether but we should keep in mind that early in the season these WR's in particular may not help us.

Who's going to take him with that contract....? When they can wait until he clears & then bid.... :coach: |
Re: Falcons Cut Price - Are we interested?
I am pissed that our cap situation has been mismanaged so that we have no money to sign anyone at this time.
I have said a million times that this is the best time of year to get some real bargains. But Snyderatto, who in the past just gave away Redskins Salary cap money, have spent us into a tight situation. I am amazed the the eagles have more than $5m under the cap. My only concern is he will go with the Eagles, (who have a ton of cap space) or the Cowboys who have Bledsoe. |
Re: Falcons Cut Price - Are we interested?
Falcons Cut Price? are they for sale? i could see both Gibbs and Snyder interested in buying that team.
*sorry, couldn't bite my lip any longer* |
Re: Falcons Cut Price - Are we interested?
While Peerless could be just fine in the role that many of us have envisioned Taylor Jacobs playing, I think I'd stick with what we have.
What confuses me is how we complain every year about fiscal irresponsibility and lack of stability and team chemistry. And yet here we are with the regular season just 10 days away and again we're talking about spending money to bring someone in at the last minute. Let's just let the players who have been with us all preseason grow. |
