Soooo, for each of us, what is the breaking point for Gibbs?
 

We are in the midst of a crisis in Redskins Nation. Never before have I seen such in-fighting after A WIN! Its obvious that our team is in turmoil. That being said, at what point for each of you would you actually call for a coaching change? Gibbs got a pass his first season. But in his second season Gibbs has bungled a couple of things, i.e. the trading of draft picks for Campbell, the Ramsey is my starter, etc. So here is the question: What is [b][u]your breaking point?[/u][/b] For me, if we finish this season with 6 wins or less, given the way Gibbs has handled this team, that would be enough to call for the Great One's resignation. Thoughts? Again, Im not picking a fight with the Gibbs supporters, Im merely asking when in your opinion what scenario would call for a coaching change.

The end of his contract. Period.

We need continuity more than anything else. Three to four years of it regardless of record.

We have so much mediocrity to over come- it takes time.

A coaching change? Not until he wants to walk out, thats when you request a change.

I can seperate my criticism of this move with my opinion of the coach. He signed a five year deal, and I believe that he will make the team better.

Though I don't agree with the handling of this switch, I believe the team will improve under his stewardship. The job is his, for as long as he feels he can help the team.

There is no breaking point for me. He holds the job as long as he wants it. An 0-16 season would not change my mind one bit...

Gibbs will know when to walk away. Snyder is not going to fire him.

Is a QB change really the end of the world? Must be for some people. Guess I didn't realize Ramsey was the 2nd coming of Montana.

I'm afraid to even think about those possibilities right now. Because to do so is to admit that even Joe Gibbs couldn't help this team. And if Joe can't, who can? Danny S. doesn't have any more rabbits he can pull out of his hat! If Joe resigns or if he plays out his contract and the team still hasn't been back to the playoffs during his 5 years, what do we do then? It's too frightening to even contemplate.

Here's another take on your question. I don't think that Snyder would ever consider firing Joe. So, if team continues with losing seasons, does anyone think that Joe would resign before his contract is up? In other words, what would be Joe's breaking point?

Exactly Matty! Ramsey has shown very little improvement over the past three years. I don't think Brunnell is all that either, but its just a QB change, its really not that big of a deal when you didn't have an ace in the hole to begin with!

I don't know how you would say this is a team in crises. We are 1 & 0. We have to face the fact that Ramsey was turning the ball over way to often and he only threw for two touchdowns in about 7 quarters and turned the ball over about 6 times (that is including his playing time in pre and regular season). I still feel the Campbell trade was for our QB of the future if Ramsey did not step up. I do feel Ramsey was not given enough time but I'm not the coach. If Brunell does not guide us to some wins early I think we will see Campbell come in. That would give Gibbs 3 1/2 seasons with Campbell to take us to the SB. I feel he did sign a five year deal because that is how long he feels it will take to make a push for the SB and he should be given those five years.

Crisis???
Man, this whole QB thing is getting out of hand.
This is not a crisis for me, it the usual step when a player fails..you get rid of them, just like we got rid of Heath Shuler.
This is only a crisis for the devoted Ramsey fans. The ones that would rather fire Gibbs than get rid of Ramsey. The ones that want to see Ramsey come back on another team and beat us. You know who you are.

we have a team without a qb, thats the only problem, trying to win now with a maxed cap and no solid choice at qb right now...

I hate to say it, but if we go 4-12 i'd have to consider it, unless we're throwing away the year for campbell to get experience.

The fans may be in crisis, but I guarantee you the team is not.

They still have a job to do no matter who is behind center. I don't buy this myth that the team secretly wants Ramsey over Brunell.

The team wants to win no matter what. If Brunell produces and the team is winning all will be fine.
