Harris & Marshall
These guys seem to be "holding up" pretty good, don't you think?
What happened to all the idiots in the media predicting the downfall of our 'D' due to the losses of Smoot & Pierce? Seems kinda quiet now. ;) Once again it looks like Williams has a clue when putting together his defense. Go figure. Re: Harris & Marshall
What a pleasant suprise for the Skins. Both of these guys have stepped up. Marshall has one int. so far and has handled himself well in the middle.
I'm really impressed with Walt's presence around the ball. He's constantly in or around the backfield and defending passes well. This will be great for C.Rogers, now we don't have to put him a situation where he's rushed into the line-up but can be truly tutored by two seasoned vets. Hail! |
Re: Harris & Marshall
With the way Harris is playing Rogers just might be relegated to the nickel all year.

Re: Harris & Marshall
Which would be fine, actually. It would be good for his transitioning period.
If Springs/Harris stay healthy I don't see Carlos cracking the line-up. What's funny is that every one stayed away from Springs a couple of years ago because he was so called injury proned, and they doubted if Harris could recover. Our front office takes a lot of heat, but their gambles on the corners are paying dividends so far. |
Re: Harris & Marshall
pierce i think is better than marshall still, better at positioning people and shedding blocks... the big thing is the difference in money was tiny and i don't like handing a division rival a quality starter like that.
Smoot got paid a lot more and if we kept him, we would have drafted differently... i wasn't mad about him going though. He wasn't good at blitzing and played back a bit farther than GW probably wanted., but he definately had heart. |

Preferably the draft. |

preferrably free agency for me, maybe not even this year. springs and harris have a few years left in them. |
Re: Harris & Marshall
Smooty had a good game in Cincy last week, didn't he? Oh wait a minute, that secondary got spanked. Once again, our cast-offs are earning their monikers.

Re: Harris & Marshall
smoot did have a good game... its not his fault winfield got smoked by CJ.
btw Pierce has played great the first 2 games for the giants. |
Re: Harris & Marshall
It's things like this that make me more confident in Joe and his staff all the time. When Smoot and Pierce left, I had to be hospitalized for three days. When interviewed, Williams and Gibbs, didn't seem real concerned. They contend they are building something special. I am beginning to believe

Re: Harris & Marshall
It would kind of be funny all these people who said they were Redskins all the way etc... and cried because the offense struggled last year and the past losing seasons and ran at the first sight of freedom or a paycheck if the Redskins turned it around and made a solid run for the playoffs. Along with the Nationals that called us to finish dead last and that losing those players and questioning the moves and off season we had as being horrific. This team I say if anything has some good to great talent and some extreme heart and chips on their shoulders if they can eliminate the mental mistakes can be dangerous, love the way our new people are stepping up in their new roles or positions. Seeing Harris wrap up closing the tackles is awesome instead of diving at someones legs and them breaking the play as many other Corners do. Our corners are just solid in just about every aspect and really play fundamental ball. Not many missed tackles this year when we make contact.
