Safe to watch a game in Philly?
I plan on going to Philly to watch the Cowboys play the fleagles on the Monday nighter in November. I have seen posts on Cowboys message boards that warn fans not to wear any team colors other than the beagle puke green. When the Skins play in Filthy, do you hide your colors?? Go in a large group?? Is it really that bad?

Re: Safe to watch a game in Philly?
Why do we care what happens to a cowgirl fan. lol Me personally even though I have never been there I would wear my colors proudly. Expect to get harrassed before, during and maybe after the game (if you loose). It would not be like they will kill you wearing a different color. I just hope you have thick skin so to say. Good luck and have fun.

Re: Safe to watch a game in Philly?
Philly is the only place that Chief Z won't go. He got beat up there several years back and has vowed to not go back. That's the only game he misses every year.
The fans are idiots and they're violent. I'll never go there, but uhhhh, yeah you should go. |
Re: Safe to watch a game in Philly?
I went to a Redskins-Eagles playoff game at the Vet years ago, wearing a Skins hat and shirt. The fans were pretty aggressive toward me, yelling and throwing ideballs at me until the Eagles started to lose. Then they turned their hatred toward Buddy Ryan (turned out to be his last game there).
I'd remain low key, and when the Eagles fans turn against their team, join in on the fun. And please, do not come to Fedex Field on December 18. |
Re: Safe to watch a game in Philly?
I think you should suit up in all your Dallas stuff and go raise hell with all the Phl fans. When you get home from the Hospital, oh I mean game let us know how things went.

Re: Safe to watch a game in Philly?
as been said...watch your back. These are the same people that cheered when Michael Irvin ended his career.
I've heard first hand horror stories of guys ending up bruised, beaten, one in the hospital because they wore the other teams colors. In fact, stay out of the extremes in the upper deck...those who used to sit in the 700s at the Vet. Those are the biggest offenders... |
Re: Safe to watch a game in Philly?
My brother used my season tickets to take his nine yr old son to the "Tear Gas Bowl" at Fedex field.
Enough said. Anytime you have to use tear gas, it shows the kind of fans you are dealing with. J |
Re: Safe to watch a game in Philly?
I wouldn't go, but I have heard it has gotten better there. They installed a bunch of cameras and even put a mini court in the basment to dole out punishments. It can't be as bad as going to a Raiders home game. Ever seen that video of the Chargers fan getting stabbed? I mean I love my team but I think attempted murder is a bit far. Although since it was a Chargers fan it might be considered a mercy killing.

Re: Safe to watch a game in Philly?
Hell no it's not safe in anyway..... Don't wear any cowboys stuff... and hell dont even wear blue.... Don't cheer in anyway.... I know you think i'm kidding but this is serious biz... They will throw bottles hit you gang swarms you there... these fans are low life criminals.... its true that they have a jail a judge holding cells and they can arraign them right there(excuse my spelling) It's there cause they need it... I don't even wanna see a dallas fan be killed... It's so bad that when the cowboys play the skins i root for dallas .....anyone but those low life eagles fans... I live in pa.... I have seen many non fans hospitalized at an eagles game... a few years ago they almost killed that old 70 year old skins mascot.... you know the indian..he was critcal.... good luck

Re: Safe to watch a game in Philly?
it's really sad but true. i don't think it would be advisable.

Re: Safe to watch a game in Philly?
Never take off your color's, my advise to you is bring a tiny mirror so you can see who's throwing things at you from behind, once you locate their ring leader go on the offensive and stomp him into a little green speck, this will send a message to the rest of them to back off, they won't be expecting you to go into attack mode, by the time they get over the shock of being attacked and start thinking about retaliation, you'll be home in bed sleeping!
You may want to fill a pillow case with all those rings and beat someone over the head with them, it's not like they have rings to fill a pillow case with to fight back! |
Re: Safe to watch a game in Philly?
i heard that eagles fans piss onto opponents fans from above them. such a trashy place, perfect for trashy people

Re: Safe to watch a game in Philly?
don't be a hero dude........trust me it's not worth it.
Just wear your colors under your jacket, keep quite no matter what happens. no cheering for the skins at least out loud. Trust me I've been in a couple of fights with Philly fan down here at fedex...... They are a 100 times as bad at the linc............ All these guys telling you to wear your colors but don't do it. |

I wore my bugandy and gold and was tackled by an Eagles fan at halftime. His friend did pull him and away and apologized. I was booed and yelled at everywhere I walked. But once we won the game that Philly was supposed to kill us, everyone was pretty subdued and just stunned. They did turn on their own team and were not even concerned about us afterwords. I remember this woman signing "Hail to the Redskins" outside after the game and thought she was nuts. I went to my car asap and celebrated my win there. I was at a game around 82 or 83 and I saw Chief get thrown down the stairs. I have not been to the Linc yet, but am consdering going there for the season finale against the Skins. While the Eagle's fans show their displeasure for Skins fans and I can only imagine their displeasure for Cowboy fans is off the charts. |
