Pierson Prioleau or Matt Bowen?
Now that Matt Bowen is back in the starting line up:

Re: Pierson Prioleau or Matt Bowen?
Bowen has always been one of my favorite Redskins. I like his intensity. I like his attacking style of play. I think he's a good tackler. Until he got hurt last year, he was a monster on blitzes.
I am glad to see him return to a starting role. I think his play and demeanor fires up other players. |
Re: Pierson Prioleau or Matt Bowen?
Pierson, putting him back there reminds me of, two of the most hardest hitting Safties in our time, Atwater & Smith

Re: Pierson Prioleau or Matt Bowen?
PP, bowen still sucks in coverage :(

Re: Pierson Prioleau or Matt Bowen?
i hope to see atleast 2 sacks by bowen this sunday.

Re: Pierson Prioleau or Matt Bowen?
Bowen definitely gives it his all on every play, but isn't he slow?

Who is Smith? I thought that Lott was a pretty good hitter... |
Re: Pierson Prioleau or Matt Bowen?
I like the way that Williams uses Bowen on blitzs but he is not really that great in coverage. I may be the odd one here but I would like to see Stoutmire(SP) more, I mean he can really lay on a monster hit... Remember him seperating Muhammad from the ball in the first game against the bears?
All in all, I really dont think that there is enough game time between the two to make an accurate choice, I mean they both really only played 2 games each as a starting Redskin. If I had to pick one I think that I would have to go with Bowen overall... |
Re: Pierson Prioleau or Matt Bowen?
Right now, this week, Bowen is a better choice. He's a better run stopper than PP. But if we're talking about overall.....I think Preilou is better in pass coverage, and does a decent job against the run. Bowen is slow as hell.

Re: Pierson Prioleau or Matt Bowen?
My question is: how is Ryan Clark coming along? Haven't seen his name on the injured list this week. Is he practicing? I thought he was higher on the depth chart...
Bowen is good on the blitz and against the run (I think) but not as good in coverage. Still, I trust Williams and co. to use him properly and keep us strong. |

Slow? One of the few things he has going for him is speed. |
Re: Pierson Prioleau or Matt Bowen?
clark has been hurt for a while now.
|
Re: Pierson Prioleau or Matt Bowen?
I'll go with neither on this one.
They both have their limitations and overall are average players. |
Re: Pierson Prioleau or Matt Bowen?
it says bowen is 25 in the article...he was born in 76 making him either 28 or 29 depending on his bday...stupid washintgon times

Re: Pierson Prioleau or Matt Bowen?
I can see Bowen being the blitzer opposite side from Springs, both coming on every other blitz called.
Bowen is a big hitter, one of my favorite players from the intensity POV, but ponderous on pass coverage. He seems to lose a step on thought process. |
