"Washington Redskins reserve linebacker Antonio Pierce, a restricted free agent, is likely to sign an offer sheet with the Minnesota Vikings today, according to sources familiar with the situation."

I like Pierce as a player, but with our depth at LB, we shouldn't jump through hoops to keep him on the team. If the Vikings make him a good offer, wish him well.

I wonder if any other teams have shown interest and if there's any possibility of a sign and trade a la Bryan Johnson
|
Id say no, but I didnt think there was interest in BJ either. I wonder why the Vikings are going after him.
|
That Really Suck's!
|
why? he hasnt done to much for us, he hasnt had teh chance either i guess

According to the Washington Post, the Skins were able to keep Pierce.
"Meantime, the Redskins were able to keep reserve linebacker Antonio Pierce after the Minnesota Vikings tried signing him to an offer sheet before yesterday's 11:59 p.m. deadline. According to a source, the Redskins preempted Minnesota's offer sheet partly by giving the linebacker a new deal. Pierce had been one of four Redskins restricted free agents who signed a one-year tender offer of $628,000. "It was a tough decision for him," Pierce's agent, Mitchell Frankel, said last night, "because he came in with Washington and they gave him his first opportunity." |

I wonder how much that will affect their pursuit of Barrow or other linebackers. It might not have to much of an affect, they probably assumed they were going to keep him anyways. He doestn cost that much, hell ill ride the bench for 628000. Heck, ill do it for an even 500000

Not so fast!!! We retained him.
|
Yea thast what the post says, we retained him for 628000.
