The "I'm Not Freaking Out" Thread

The game was a good one with both Teams doing a pretty good job. I see the game as a Skins loss on [3] turnovers and we blew [2] BIG plays on D.

I still see this Team getting better like a train starting to get rolling.

Stuff shakes and get's knocked around as speed builds up.

Don't get me wrong I NEVER like an [L] but my Skins can hang with any Team in the NFL.

Win your Home games and 1/2 your Away Games.

Those were two hard losses and it's time to get going!

Anyone else still see us in a positive way?
*not saying thewarpath posters are all negitive

Thanks for the INFO guys.

peace
mike

I certainly have some concerns...obvious concerns we all can agree on that needs to be corrected - penalities and turnovers. However, you're correct, I do see this team continuing to improve. Just wait though, after we win next week, the doubters will go back into their caves and we won't hear from them again until we lose another game.

I for one am not terribly concerned about our team. In fact, given what I thought about Brunell taking back the reigns, I am very happy.

We knew that the Broncos and Chiefs were going to be hard to beat. The Broncos just beat the Pats by 8 points and the Chiefs got LT Roaf back in time to play us. They are solid teams that barely beat us. We shouldn't be hitting the panic button yet.

That said, I think people have some valid concerns about our scoring offense, the dumb penalties, the lack of defensive turnovers, and the defense's inability to pressure opposing quarterbacks.

I still feel pretty good about our chances of winning 10 games or so.

The offense continues to improve week to week, more points will come very soon.

Springs is so valuable to our 'D' and I think we've really felt his loss. He is arguably the most important component of the defense.

Every time we loose a game the doubters come out, but it's good to see there are some who still have faith, and I guess that's what we call being a true Redskin fan.

Everyone seems to be so blindsided by this LaVar ordeal, that everytime we loose now it's because he didn't play. and that alone seems to keep us from focusing on the positives. I for one will be ultra glad when his situation goes away so we can concentrate on something positive for a change.

There's no need to get down on the team as of now. We all wanted to see the offensed move the ball and maintain time of possession. That's happening. The next step is to capitalize on TD'S which I expect next Sunday against NFL's whipping boys called the 49ers.

It's funny how the board is so busy after a loss, but relatively quiet after a win.

Just goes to show the haters love it when things are going bad.

3-2 and we are through the toughest back to back weeks of the schedule. We go home to play SF, and we should be 4-2. That's a good mark. Then it's up to NY for a big game in the meadowlands. So I think we're not in bad shape. But (as everyone realizes) we have to fix the TO ratio, and stop giving up the big play on D. BUt if we win the games we ought to, we are going to be in the playoff fight, IMO. THat's all you can ask for at this point, I think.

When is Springs due back?

I still think we can finish the year strong....

I am still positive. I thought going into these last two games that they would be lucky to get one of them. They ended up outplaying Denver and KC, but that and 50 cents as they say. I think the skins have shown the league that they are a good team. They just need to take care of business in the games they should win and they will be okay. Ie: 49ers...get to 4-2 next sunday and the ship is headed in the right direction again.

I agree OUR skins are just getting started. Hell we have dominated the opposition in near bout every catagory every week. we just have to hold on to the ball and not commit the penalties. we have dominated time of posession but you wouldnt know that with the points we have put up, so with that said we have to score when we have the ball for that long!!

Keeping the offense on for a long period of time will help the "ailing" defense.

The only thing left that we need to dominate is the score!

I didn't know blind faith was required to be considered a true Redskins fan.

Re: The "I'm Not Freaking Out" Thread

Just glanced over at extremekins--the number of "sky is falling" threads is just AMAZING to me. An NFL season is 16 games. You look at your schedule, and you see how you can likely get the wins you need. My god, we're 3-2 with SF at home on deck. My guess is we'll likely be 4-2 after next week, and we'll see a lot of "we're gonna win it all" threads. COme on. You have to have an even keel here. Yes, the loses suck, and especially when we see that they were games we could have won. But there are signs here of a good offense. And, yes, our D has slipped in the last two. But we played two excellent offenses, on the road (at mile high and Arrow head, no less)--unless you're the 72 Fins, you're going to lose some games.

Here's the solution--win the games you should, pull out a few close ones on the road, and get better every week. Then, come December, lets see where we stand. The sky is not falling. Williams is still a good coordinator. Brunnell is still a good QB. Samules is still a good LT. Etc. What wins games is error free, tough, smart football. We've got the players and coaches to do it, but we are not there yet. BUt I am optimistic.
