Offensive Line Dominance

Just a picture I thought I'd share with you:

This was when Portis was stopped for a loss and the line and Portis rushed for basically 7 yards. Here's to another performance like that this week.

That play was like a rugby scrum.

Dumb question: What does "PWNED" mean?

Re: Offensive Line Dominance

Yeah, but can we do that against a good team like Dallas......?

Re: Offensive Line Dominance

I was shocked the refs didn't penalize us for pushing the pile, it was late in the game and a crucial play, I guess they wanted to keep the hype going for next weeks big game with the boy's.

The refs not throwing a flag on us late in the game theres a shocker. :headbange

This line better dominate sorry teams like Ariz. Lets see how they do against real playoff contenders like Dallas and NY.
Dumb question: What does "PWNED" mean?
A corruption of the word "Owned." This originated in an online game called Warcraft, where a map designer misspelled "owned." When the computer beat a player, it was supposed to say, so-and-so "has been owned."

Instead, it said, so-and-so "has been pwned."

It basically means "to own" or to be dominated by an opponent or situation, especially by some god-like or computer-like force.
"Man, I rock at my job, but I still got a bad evaluation. I was pwned."

OR

"That team totally pwned us."

Re: Offensive Line Dominance

In college it's one of those penalties that's rarely called, ie the "Bush Push" against ND.

In the NFL it might be the same case. I don't remember ever seeing it called.

I truly think that our line was be dominant with the running game. We just have to USE IT like we have the past couple weeks.

yeah in the USC game they did it and ever since then people have said that you can't push the pile but i know i have seen it many times before in my young football watching career and I don't think i have ever scene it been called. I have heard announcers comment on it being a smart play when a lineman nudges a runner. I don't know though

Portis wasn't hit in the backfield, he was hit maybe 2yds out, stayed on his feet and just kept churning long enough for the Oline to come over and push the pile he started. c'mon guys give credit where credit is due.

That play represents a shift in attitude for our offense. They are refusing to lose when it's close in the 4th rather than sitting on our hind legs like we did in the losing streak late in the game. I think the o-line will ride that momentum and stick it to Dallas this weekend

While I certainly hope you are right, that was the last (real) play of the game, so we won't really know until next Sunday. I hope they do realize that they have the talent to move defenses.
