| Baugh Opinion OK, I would have thought this was a good autograph. The only thing that brings it to question is when he said it was signed: Sammy Baugh AUTOGRAPHED Redskins football jersey JSA - eBay (item 120332881996 end time Nov-18-08 17:52:00 PST) Thoughts?

| Re: Baugh Opinion The JSA cert checks out as being for a Baugh signed jersey. I doubt the jersey is a legit M&N if that matters at all to you (and, of course, the seller does not advertise it as such). I'm sure you know this, but you can check those JSA numbers (D77111) at James Spence Authentication (though I'm not sure how much stock you put in the JSA certs, they seem good to me but I never like it when a cert doesn't give the date and location of a signing). I'm also sure you know this, but PSA/DNA offers a cool service for eBay where they will offer an opinion on whether their expert thinks an auto is legit PSADNA QuickOpinion(SM). To answer the question of why Rich was concerned about the signing date, it is because he is an informed guy who knows that the last signing Baugh did was in 2004. I

| Re: Baugh Opinion SC is right about my concerns. Sammy's last signing was in the summer of 2004. He went into a nursing home at that time and has not signed an autograph since. If a seller is saying something was signed in 2007, then it is a real cause for concern. PSA, JSA, GAI etc are nice, but they are just an opinion. I remember reading an article where they had some sort of competetion between the best authenticators at those companies, and the winning person was just slightly above 50% correct. That sounds like throwing darts at a board to me.
