| I don't see Russell sticking around. With Coles, Gardner, McCants, Jacobs, Thrash and Cloman, I don't see any room for a guy that can't catch-- I don't care how fast he is. Gibbs looks for intelligence, toughness, reliability and excellent route-running in his wide receivers, and Russell possesses none of those qualities from what I have seen. |

| I had thought he would've been a perfect candidate for NFL Europe. Once the Redskins didn't send him over there I thought it was pretty apparent that he just doesn't fit into their plans

| i was wondering about something, in the deal for thrash, did we give up the 5th round pick or is it contingent for him to be on our roster for a certain amount of time to send the pick to phili? i ask this cuz i think cloman and the recently signed udfa standeford each have a decent shot of making the roster. |

| we signed that purdue wr as well and i have a strong feeling he will make the team. very good stats considering his competition in his conference and being 6'2 195lbs helps considerably |

| Russell's world class "sprinter speed" will keep him around until training camp because you can't teach "FAST!" However, unless someone taught him how to catch a football in the last six months, he will flub his way onto the "cut list" before the season starts. Because of his speed, some other team will sign him. And they'll keep him until they convince themselves that they can't teach him how to catch a football either. But if he ever learns how to do that, he'll be a force in the league. This guy is "Darrell Green fast". |

| russell's the type of guy stickem was created for. he has bricks for hands and someone should see about turning him into a db cuz unless he makes a deal with the devil(like on futurama) to be able to catch, he's never gonna be anything higher than a 4th or 5th string wr. |

| Cornerbacks have to do more than run with receivers. Let me say this as politely as I can. I doubt that Russell could be taught to do the tackling duties associated with the cornerback position and I SERIOUSLY doubt that he could learn to read the offensive shifts and thus adjust his defensive responsibilities in the time it takes to run a play. If he is going to be valuable to a football team in the NFL, sonebody has to teach him how to catch a damned football and no one has been able to do that yet. |

Ahhh, perhaps your implying that a houseplant would give Russell a run for his money in the IQ department? Didn't we trade up to pick this guy? or was that Bauman? | |
