I agree with you guys on Robinson being a GOOD pick up, I think it would take a VERY GOOD interview with GIbbs to make sure he passes the REDSKINS character test...I think this team will have alot of FA options at WR. I still think we should take a HARD look at J. Jerovicouis....I think his style would fit in well with Patten and Moss and he's proven (this year) he can step into the top 2 spots if either get hurt.

JJ probably isn't leaving seattle. He has roots there right now and is about to re-retire, so i doubt he wants to move 3000 miles away for a one year job.

WOW, i just looked up JJ's age (32)...my bad, I didn't realize how old he was...NEVER MIND on him as our #3/2 WR, inless he's cheap and only wants a 2 year deal....

Waybe if K. Robinson passes GIbb's personnel eval test and at the age of only 26, he might be a GOOD/SOLID pick up for #2/3 WR and KR (26yr avg.)...but I would break the bank on him and i would have option years to make sure his Character stays on par with what we consider as a Redskin.

Looking at the way Gibbs has operated in the past and contrast that with the initial performance of Snyder, I have to put Randle El in the category of a HIGH PROFILE free agent which Gibbs avoids. Joe looks for capable performers who are unappreciated by their present teams, viz Moss, and discards those on the Skins who have not improved to expectations, viz Gardner. Finding a WR in the draft, especially considering we have no first round pick, that can have an immediate impact in his first year in the NFL, will be very difficult to do. I anticipate Gibbs and Saunders will go "gold mining" again this year and come up with a nugget that no one else recognized.

Everyone is acting like Randle EL is going to command huge money. He isn't. No one sees him as any more than a #2. He'll get good #2 money but it won't be huge. He can return kicks and punts. He causes confusion on the field. You have to account for him on every play. THIS is what we need. There MAY be bigger WRs. There MAY be more polished guys but Randle EL has some intangibles that I think would appeal to Gibbs and would be good to have. I know he is a sexy FA but I think it is based in solid analysis and not just over-hype.
And to those who say we need size. Why? What will size do for us if the guy is a stiff and can't get open? We had enough guys this year who only commanded single coverage and that is why Moss got derailed somewhat. We need a guy that CAN GET OPEN when he has single coverage. I think Robinson could fit but is he a guy Gibbs wants? If forced I would guess no. Moulds? He is clearly a declining player and the type of player Gibbs eschewed last year and even Snyder hasn't gone vet hunting in a while. I think they are both options if they come cheap. To me the guy with the biggest upside is Randle El. He is still learning how to be a WR so one would think he could make some skill improvements still and he offers a lot of other stuff. Getting a guy who can return kicks and punts allows us some flexibility at other positions too. Betts becomes more expendable now that he isn't the backup option at KR. Thrash may become expendable. AB is already gone I am sure. Randle El just seems like such a good fit in a lot of ways.

I like Antwaan Randle El. He fills a lot of needs. He is a solid #2 receiver, an explosive kick returner and punt returner. He is a player that allows you to be creative on offense (trick plays). If you get him for the right price, he fills a lot of voids.

What's ironic is that he's younger than Terrell Owens and Eric Moulds.

JJ is just one of those players who gets the job done year after year. he might have saved the seahawk season when their receiver corps got injured all year. warrick was a bust. engram and jackson were out a lot. hackett stepped up as well and they carried the passing game along with stevens, who finally justified his #1 pick status

agree it would have to be more than a 1 year deal. onthe other hand, he is healthy so you never know.
the hawks will have lots of cap issues if they try to hold onto alexander this offseason. then there is hutchinson who is a free agent as well

everything you say is true. but we still need a big body guy to wall off defenders for the inaacurate pass over the middle and to run the fade inthe redzone.. as good as randle el is, i would like to have someone over 6 feet for those times when size does matter

younger than mccardell and jimmy smith and isaac bruce ? as well. but if a guy takes care of his body, there is no reason wny a receiver cannot be productive into their thirties. guys like monk, ellard, fryer, c carter where greats for that reason.

i think they let him walk, he's an good back, but they've got either the best oline or the #2 in the league and shaun isn't really a team guy(though he's worked on it, he's obviously not a natural leader), and people think he's soft.

I'd bet they'd go younger there cause it'd save them 4+mill a year without a gigantic dropoff in performance (possibly get an rb that can catch while they're at it).

could happen. the market for over 30 running backs is small. edgerrin will likely be free as well.
morris did not look bad and with their potent passing game they might go with running back via committee
