| Re: Patten to be released? Maybe TJ will grow a sack and live up to his potential. Remember Stephen Davis? He needed some time at FB before he found out how to run with power. Perhaps TJ needs a similar smack in the face to wake him up. |

| Re: Patten to be released? I think if Jacobs stays on the team, it is because Saunders has found a way to use him somehow differently then how we have been using him in the past. Patten seems like a team player now, but dont you guys remember all that smack he was talking during the season last year? Patten is a good receiver and i would hate to see him go, but couldnt we just trade him, instead of releasing him?

| Re: Patten to be released? Why is this year the big test for Jacobs vs. last year? He had his chance last year and simply didn't step up at all. Patten is unquestionably the more accomplished and proven WR. That's not even debateable. Regarding injuries, Patten had a legitimate injury and the team put him on IR, he didn't take himself out of a game with a headache like Jacobs did. |

| Re: Patten to be released? Right, Jacobs might have all or MORE of the physical tools needed, but he just doesn't have it upstairs.

| Re: Patten to be released? Coming out of Florida you couldn't have convinced me otherwise he would have sucked this much ass. I was one of the last people to fall off the Jacobs-bangwagon last year too. I think Daseal is the lone driver. I think we all gave him chance after chance and he never put up. When you make comments like the one's he's made, you lose faith in a guy.

Jacobs never could have done what Patten did in the Patriots' offense, Offiss. Jacobs doesn't have the same speed. Patten put those numbers up by running fly-routes and post patterns mainly. Jacobs can't burn anybody, and he can't separate from defenders. Just check the quote, "They have DBs running 4.3, what do you want me to do?" Secondly, you do realize that Patten was hurt in week 2, right? He was banged up for the next 5 games or so, and then got put on IR. Trying to determine what kind of player he is based solely on last season is nothing short of retarded. He made a name for himself in New England by flat out BURNING people, and when you have a balky knee, it's pretty hard to burn those DBs with the 4.3 speed that Jacobs loves to complain about. And lastly, I can't believe you actually think the Skins are going to keep him. He's as good as cut, man. Anyone who thinks Jacobs has a chance at sticking around needs to pay closer attention to this team. He was a player SPURRIER drafted. Gibbs has given him chance after chance and he has been disappointing all the way. In terms of special teams, last year we had two WRs taking part in special teams: Thrash and Jacobs. This year we'll also have two: Thrash and Randle-El (returning). There's nothing saying that we'll need Jacobs playing teams so desperately. Jimoh will be one gunner, and there are plenty of other options for the other gunner spot. | |

| Re: Patten to be released? Aren't you happy someone showed up for you to argue with Schneed? HAHAHA! Saunders has done some magic with totally shitty receivers, but, and it pains me to say this, people like Eddie Kennison are far more of a man than Taylor Jacobs will ever be.

| Re: Patten to be released? As the undisputed Fence Riding Champion Of The Known Free World, I must put my two cents in ...hey, wait that's not a penny! (ahem) If anyone thinks that our season's success rides on us keeping either Patten or Jacobs then the NFL needs to hand over the Lombardi trophy right now. I never have been a Jacobs fan. Patten is Patten. He's fast and shows a good work ethic, but he will be our #4 option. That's it. Whoopee! Keeping Patten does not put us that much closer to the championship game and keeping Jacobs doesn't put us that much farther away.
