At least Brunell is looking better.

It's still really early. The QBs will be fine.

Re: Cup of Schmoe Day 2 (hailredskins.com)

It's early enough where I'm unconcerned. I have to hope that Campbell firmly establishes himself as the immediate backup to Brunell because failure to do so would suggest bad news in our future. In that case, Collins only gets PT in the catastrophic scenario where Brunell and Campbell go down.

Collins is more valuable as a third string QB than most because of what he brings off the field; he knows the offense and can help other players transition into it. Most teams get absolutely zero value for their third string QB, and I'm at least greatful that we have a guy who can tutor others.

I understand Brunell looked better on day 2 and Campbell has been impressive thus far. Regardless of Collins, that's good new as far as I'm concerned.

Re: Cup of Schmoe Day 2 (hailredskins.com)

I don't consider myself stupid but i must be. It is quite amazing. I disagree with every single thing in that article outside of the biggest hit. I don't understand how i could see things so differently.

Brunell was horrible again. He says how good brunell was playing but then compliments fauria about catching a POS pass FROM BRUNELL. That pass made me want to throw up. I am glad christian caught it but i don't think it was nearly as dramatic as the author made it sound. Yeah he had to jump but a finger tipping catch against the core gravity of the earth is pushing it. ON that throw people were commenting on how theycould do better throwing that ball. It was a 6 - 8 yard pass and it was horrible. Brunell threw interceptions and passed balls so low that it was tipped by dline men a few times. One time he hiked it and threw the ball within 3 seconds off his back foot and it sailed short and to far for the wide receiver. Someone i was talking to said that was horrible. I thought it might have been a an intentional throw away but the dline wasn't all that close and the wide receiver over there was open as far as i could tell. The receiver was on the other side of the field so it was tough to tell.

SO what if rock fumbled it. He did but it isn't like he gets a thumbs down for the day. Maybe he forgets the hits rock took and bounced back from and stayed on his feet to the endzone and then saunders coming over and giving him a big bear hug. On the fumble saunders came over and patted him on the head and put the ball in his hands and started swatting at it. It seemed to be something supportive. Saunders doesn't seem like someone that is going to yell you to death. He is going to congratulate you every single time you do something right. Saunders is running into the endzone every play to give players hugs and pats on the head. Rock had a good day outside the "cardinal sin". Please.

I agree half way on taylor. Taylor seems to be a caged dog. He wants to lay a mother f...er out but he can't because we are all on the same team. Yesterday when he missed the tackle i think it was due to the fact he isn't going full speed when hitting the offense. He doesn't seem to be going at it very hard. But when taylor gets pissed you see what happens. Portis busted through the d-line on one play and continued untouched passed the LBs. Sean could have done what he did for jacobs yesterday but he decided to lay the hit. Taylor pushed portis with two hands and portis going full speed in one direction was just as quickly headed backwards in the opposite. Taylor just pushed him down like a rag doll and walked away.

I don't know how campbell was just alright today. he played well even though sometimes he put it down and ran. I think that is a good thing. If nothing is open and palyers are down field run away and get 15 yards. The pass on which rocky nearly intercepted it was near me and many of the fans as it was on the sideline next to the fans. The ball was nearly intercepted. I agree. The ball however could not have been placed better in my opinion. If the ball was 4 inches lower it would have been rocky's. If it was 2 inches higher it would have been to high for the WR, who had to jump for the ball. Now i didn't see the other options and no fan can really know what the QB is seeing pre-snap escpecially at a sideline angle. Maybe if someone is wide open but otherwise not really. Campbell may have had another option but i don't know this. He picked a target and the ball was caught and it was the ONLY place it could have been placed in my opinion

On a side note i got right next to gibbs and got his autograph. He gavce me a little booklet thing he was giving out to people. It is called "JOE GIBBS Success and the ledssons I've leaned along the way"---- It is a mini book with chapters like, searching for the truth, god's game plan or the world's, Trusting god with my career, A close call provides perspective, a financial crisis builds character and a 'sum it up' ending. ON the back it says "you cdan know christ personally" and quotes 4 passages from the bible--John 3:16, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:8, Ephesians 2:8-9

Re: Cup of Schmoe Day 2 (hailredskins.com)

I couldn't care less what Collins looked like. Our season is on Brunell and his health. If he stays healthy we got a chance. If not I just don't see how we can win unless Campbell is even better than advertised at this point. I think it is imperative to get off to a strong start this year and hopefully get some good mop up work for Campbell as soon as possible to get him ready and keep Brunell fresher. If we have to grind out games and keep Brunell in there then we are at a big disadvantage come December when he will inevitably have a nagging injury that hinders him like last year.

from the article, i don't Prioleau was an unknown at all. when he was signed, the guys on at least 3 nfl shows (espn) that day commented on what a great ST player he was.

I am tired of hearing about Rock Cartwright but I am more tired of people acting like you insulted their mother if anything negative is said about him. He must be the most overhyped 3rd or 4th back in the league. Point blank, he is a fumbler. He lost a game in Carolina for the ballcoach and he lost the KC game last year.

I love him on special teams but I hope that he doesn't have to carry it one time when it matters this season.

Re: Cup of Schmoe Day 2 (hailredskins.com)

Guys, this thing is real simple. Brunell is the key to the Skins making it to the Super Bowl this year. We have all the tools and need him to captain the ship. We'll make another run in '09 with Jason, but this year we need Mark B. Under center for 90% of the regular season snaps or we'll just make the playoffs, and bow out in the second round.

Re: Cup of Schmoe Day 2 (hailredskins.com)

i agree with the majority. i could give a rats ass about todd collins. our 2006 sucess begins and ends with #8. mark brunell. it really doesnt matter if you like him or not, he is the guy. which means if we are going to try and win it all, he must stay healthy and he must play well

Also so everyone knows. Clinton looks so fast again. HE was breaking through the layers of defense yesterday. The first play he was untouched for like a 25 yard touchdown. Speed.

lol good ol' Gibbs, I am not very religous but I guess its cool how he isnt shy about his faith, and how he can incorporate that without being some religous freak.

All this Collins talk reminds of the guy that was here posting a couple of months ago trying anoint Collins as the second coming of Joe Montana.
It was hillarious!
