Re: How We Make The Playoffs

What a wasted opportunity this was. Coming out so hot in the first quarter, then they act like the game ended after 15 minutes.

The classic we're up by 14, let's not make the opponent feel bad Gibbs move.

I think you nailed it. We should have stuck the dagger in them, but we let them off the ropes.

Well...the drops didn't help...I had to leave on a call during the third, was the offense THAT bad...I looked at the numbers, how did we lose this one?

Re: How We Make The Playoffs

Do you guys think Gibbs really told his team to lay off?

Or did the players decide to do that on their own?

I suspect the latter.

Well of course he didn't say that, but the play calling or lack thereof shows the attitude of the coach and the team generally follows suit.

It seems that our staff has a difficult time getting the 'tempature' of the game. The play calling was very suspect today.

Have you not watched the last 3 years? We get up by 14 and all of a sudden instead of mixing in great playaction, we try to burn clock in the first half. It doesn't work. The offense doesn't have an on/off switch that they can flick if the game gets close or they fall behind. They get cold. The running game was working, but we gotta throw some balls on 1st/2nd from time to time to keep them honest.

Re: How We Make The Playoffs

this team needs a hard ass training camp and a hard ass preseason.

the whole time in the preseason all we heard was "don't worry this isn't how we will play" and "we have only shown 2% of our offense"

this team expected every thing to be handed to them.

I'm not sure how much of a difference Springs really would have made. This game was lost on the ground by the guys up front.
