Re: Andre Carter: has he shed his bust status?

Carter was all over the place yesterday & beat his man consistently in the pass rush. If Brees holds on to the ball a little longer, AC would've had a couple more sacks/hurries. I love the way he's pursuing on the opposite side of the field too, like that last tackle on Bush.

I think one problem has been that Daniels has been nicked all year. I think he is barely playing right now. But with his age he is simply a run stopper who can give us maybe 5 a year. If PD is healthy I think Carter has a little more chance to make plays since they can't just focus on stopping him. Neither is going to be a 15 sack guy but I do think we could get 15 sacks from them both total.

If that's the case, then I put the blame on the front office for relying on aging guys like Daniels and Wynn year-in and year-out. We should have been farming young talent at defensive end a few seasons ago. Carter and Evans are the youngest at the position right?

The defensive line has been an area of neglect for this organization.

He looks better but I wonder if it is a case of being in the right place at the right time. I am still not sure, I want to see him put up numbers consistently. He still looks a bit slow of the line.

You have to admit that he looks a little more comfortable out there. He is using his speed a lot more than earlier in the year.
