So I'm not saying JC should get all the attention, or even more of the attention, my point is to say that Romo should NOT get all the attention and most certainly not be a pro bowler.
and still no stats on Jason posted but more Romo crying. Jason gets coverage people talk about him.
Look stats are really just that. Romo has produced some wins for the cowboys which is better than stats.
EX.
Matt may have better numbers than Vince but Matts team is in no position to make it to the playoffs and they play in the NFC WEST! Vince team plays in the AFC SOUTH and is right in the thick on things.

If you dont want to hear about Romo turn off your tv and then write to ESPN instead of crying about it on hear.
Romo has hit some bumps lately but hes a lot better than what Dallas had a QB.

Now that Jeff Garcia is hot your going hear a lot about him. I guess your mad at him now.

I will be if they continue to blow him like he's the next coming of an NFL Hall of Famer.

Wow, what an asanine post. You are actually comparing a QB with 20,000 passing yards, 130+ TDs with a guy who has started in 8 games, and has been mediocre at best in 3 of those?

The only thing anyone has said is that Romo backdoored his way into the Pro Bowl, and that the media is going a little crazy over him before he has actually proven himself. If he maintains his level of play, he is going to be a very good QB for the Cowgirls for a long time. But make no mistake - he ain't the second coming.

what are you talking about and reading? I didnt compare Jeff to Tony. Just saying that fella will probably be making post about Jeff now because hes getting more attention than Jason Campbell.

The QB position itself is a media hype machine.
Are you saying that Tony Romo is the entire reason the Cowboys are 6-2? If so, could it be reasonably assumed that Romo could be forced on to any other team in the league and win 75% of his starts regardless of his numbers?

Romo deserved the probowl because he has accomplished more in his 9 starts than anyone in the NFC has in 15, exception to Brees and Bulger who also made the pro bowl.

And the Cowboys wouldn't be where they are with Bledsoe, only because Bledsoe was horrible, not necessarily because of anything special Romo did.

Garcia should get more attention than either of these players, because he has actually accomplished something, and is, now, actually accomplishing something. Homo is 6-3, which is fine, but 2 of those wins (Carolina and the Vagiants) had nothing to do with him.

Re: Who is Tony Romo?

Here is a little comment on the subject from ESPN. Looks like not everyone there thinks he is the second coming. I totally agree with Gregg Easterbrook on this one.

" Romo: From Zero to Hero to 56 Percent All-Pro: Perennially, Tuesday Morning Quarterback complains that the Pro Bowl voting is a popularity contest, not an attempt to determine who's had the best seasons. One indicator is that voting closes after 14 games -- why don't the final two games count? Because voting closes after 88 percent of the action, TMQ calls the chosen the 88 Percent All-Pros. Pro Bowl absurdity reached new lows last month, as Tony Romo was chosen as an NFC quarterback despite his having a career total of nine games on the day voting closed. That made Romo a 56 Percent All Pro. Sure, the NFC is weak at quarterback, and Romo looked swell in several of those nine games. But would anyone have voted for Tony after watching his 10th outing? Hard upon being awarded a free ticket to Hawaii, in his 10th outing Romo led the Cowboys to just seven points at home against Philadelphia in a game that cost Dallas control of the NFC East, in the process recording a quarterback rating of 45.5, which is only slightly better than the rating you get for hurling the ball into the ground on every play. (If every pass clangs to the ground incomplete, an NFL quarterback gets a 39.6 rating.) In his next game, Romo again lost at home, this time to woeful Detroit, and his two careless fumbles were the game's decisive plays. Naming a guy who has played only nine games in his career to the Pro Bowl roster is a satire of the superficiality of Pro Bowl voting. Had Pro Bowl voting had closed after the 16th game, rather than the 14th, there's no way Romo would be Hawaii-bound. Thanks, Tony, for immediately proving my point on national television.
Romo note: All that media froth about the astonishingly unstoppable Romo was based on his first few games, when defenses seemed to relax for him and beginner's luck was in play. For the month of December, Romo finished with eight interceptions, seven fumbles and a pedestrian 77.1 passer rating.
Hawaii note: One reason voters "reached" for a gent who had played only nine games is that the Pro Bowl takes three quarterbacks; Romo was the third chosen. Annually a total of seven running backs and quarterbacks are sent to Hawaii from each conference, along with a total of eight offensive linemen. In football, there are twice as many offensive linemen as quarterbacks and running backs on the field. This means quarterbacks and running backs are significantly overrepresented at the Pro Bowl, compared to offensive linemen. Why wasn't the slot awarded to Romo as third quarterback instead granted to Jamar Nesbit of New Orleans or Ruben Brown of Chicago, blockers who've had Pro Bowl-caliber seasons and were shut out by the event's bias against offensive linemen?"

sums up what a popularity contest? duh!!

somebody who is 56 all pro because the rest of the sorry ass NFC couldnt produce another 88 all pro thats....
classic.

Before december Romo was one of the better qbs in the NFC and Jeff Garcia was not even on pace to put Philly in position to win anything less alone a playoff spot. Philly had just gotten pounded in a loss to the Colts at the end of November. Dallas blasted the Bucs and Romo looked great.

Do you people really watch the pro bowl because I sure as hell dont?

Will this thread ever die? Who cares? All he is, is just another mistake prone young QB. He really isn't anything special enough to talk about.

Dude, every other post of yours is an attempt to justify Homo being in the Pro Bowl. Now that someone in the media calls Homo out for winning a popularity contest, suddenly, you don't care? Whatever...

And every post of yours along with others thinks he shouldn't be there because of what hes done in Dec, what Garcia has done in Dec, and because hes a cowboy. If Jason had done what Romo had I would say he deserves to go over veterans because they had not played like veterans.

That article has nothing to do with me not watching the pro bowl. Any fan of a sport knows what any Pro bowl or All star game is all popularity along with some deserving it.

Its nice hes a cowboy going but other than that I wont be watching the pro bowl even if Romo was starting at qb.

I think its a pointless game and I have not watched it in years. Its just boring.
