Just a recap on Jones' run-ins with the law:

Obstruction of justice
Drug possession
Physical altercations with police
Spitting in the face of two women
Refused to pay for valet service
Assault
Felony vandalism
Disorderly conduct
Public intoxication
Attempted murder

I recommend the following punishment:
1. Take away ALL of his money.
2. Kick him in the balls SEVERAL times.
3. Lock him up for 10 years to life (for attempted murder)

Terry McCormick of the Nashville City Paper reports that Titans cornerback Rain Man Jones bit a police officer as part of the incident that resulted in felony obstruction charges being filed against him in early 2006.

"Adam Jones would not hold his hands together so the officer could put handcuffs on him to arrest him, and a fight ensued," said a representative of the district attorney's office in Fayette County, Georgia. "That's when he bit the officer on the thumb."

The bite caused the crime to increase from a misdemeanor to a felony.

McCormick also reports that Jones did not disclose the arrest to the team. As we explained on Thursday, failure to report an arrest is in and of itself a violation of the Personal Conduct Policy.

McCormick also reports that Jones' mother pleaded guilty to marijuana possession in a March 2006 incident at Jones' home in Fairburn, Georgia. Somehow, charges against Jones were dropped.

"There was marijuana all over the basement, and it was his house," said Mike Pruitt of the Fayette County Drug Task Force. "Under constructive possession, that should have been enough for a jury to decide this case."

Does anyone out there think that Jones will ever play pro football again? We sure don't.

Just how talented of a player is Pacman Jones?
With Adam (Pacman) Jones' problems off the field leaving open the possibility he might be released or traded by the Titans in the near future, I thought it would be a good time to see just how good Jones is on the field.
Jones is regarded by many as one of the best special teams players in the league. He led the NFL in punt return average and punt return touchdowns last year, and also ranked sixth in the league in kickoff return average.

The part of Jones' game that seems to get lost, with all of the attention paid to his return skills, is his pass coverage prowess. Here are his coverage metric from 2006:

The YPA figure places Jones in the Champ Bailey category, and it wasn't a one-year anomaly for Jones. In the second half of the 2005 season, Jones' YPA was 4.9. For the past year and a half, Jones has been one of the most dominant cover cornerbacks in the NFL.

Usually, if a player with off-the-field issues is talented enough, some team will find a roster spot for him. Jones is one of the best players in the league, so he is certainly talented enough. If the Titans end up releasing Jones, or putting him on the trade market, the list of suitors should be long.

Biting's okay if it's a serious physical altercation. Of course, if you're involved in a serious physical altercation with the fuzz, you're fubar'd.

I would agree with you if Jones was just some average Joe who was getting beat up in an alley or something, but he's an NFL player who should be able to handle himself in a fight. Plus, from the accounts I heard from the strip club altercation it sort of sounded like the bouncer was fighting some other guys and Jone bit a chunk out of his leg.
I really hope that one day he bites someone with hepatitis.

While Rogers has his faults, I am so glad that we didn't have to consider PacMan. He is a freakin' idiot. The worst part is that he was the best CB in that draft and he may never play another down.

So, I heard on ESPN that Goodell is taking a tougher stance on repeat law breakers. They didn't say exactly what measures would be taken, but they implied that repeat offenders might be out of the NFL for good. I don't know how this will affect Jones, because they probably won't consider occurrences that happened before the new approach. However, if he gets into more trouble, he might jeopardize his career -- regardless of whether he avoids jail time.

On another note: I heard that he took his money to the strip club in a trash bag. I knew that he took approximately 80K in $1 bills, but I never thought about how he did it. I mean, come on, a trash bag full of cash? Have some class.

Hip hop and thugs are 2 separate cultures. Leading a thug lifestyle may be a subculture within hip hop, but they are not one in the same. Having a hip hop background does not mean that you are a thug; and being a thug does not mean you are part of the hip hop culture. Just as playing football does not make you a thug or a felon.

Maybe the image of these 2 being synonomous (sp?) in some minds, might just be a reflection of an individual's opinion of what hip hop is. Just something to chew on.
