Doesn't matter he was still ranked higher than him.

Dude, I was being sarcastic. I actually think it was because he was probably a more complete or better blocking TE than the other guy. But to be honest I didn't scout either of them so I couldn't tell you either way.

After further review Ecker, is bigger faster, has better ball skills and a bigger upside to go with a good personality. Considering that their numbers were similar in college, I would say that Ecker was a better pick. I don't even understand how Ecker was ranked below him. But I will take a guess "A few more catches and a better YPC average". I bet that board was created by some idiot who didn't bother reading the scouts comments about the players, he went on numbers alone.

This is a prime example of last year when they traded up in the 2nd to take McIntosh when the whole time I was wondering why they didn't take Thomas Howard instead.
I still think that we didn't trade up to get mcintosh but traded up to get D'qwell jackson(from maryland) but he went to cleveland who picked right above us. Jackson has had a solid career too and was doing well before his toe ended his last 3 or 4 games last season.

Compares To: Chris Cooley, Washington Redskins While Pudewell does not get many opportunities to be involved in the passing game, he has the soft, natural hands and short-area burst like Cooley to gain valid yardage He can easily separate from linebackers after the catch and shows good urgency working back for the ball He is a much better blocker that Cooley can ever hope to be, but you can see the body control, balance and hand usage that the Redskin tight end displays to feel that Pudewell will be a productive pro player.

Pudewell is an underrated receiver who many scouts feel is one of the premier blockers in the country at his position. The offensive co-captain has the quickness to locate and obliterate second-level defenders and also shows the natural hands to lock the ball in when working in a crowd.
Jaguars signed him

Re: Dallas and Landry?

Does anyone else seem to notice that Gibbs doesn't fall in love with picks, he falls in love with schools?

I mean think about it two years ago we drafted two players from Auburn then this year we were having visits from JaMarcus Russell and considering trading down to take Dwayne Bowe, then drafting Landry.

McIntosh also continued a trend of getting players from Miami back in 05.
