| Re: Skins sign CB Jerametrius Butler I just feel that we have more pressing needs on D-line, not at an already stocked secondary. If anybody was paying attention, we were'nt really lighting up the sack totals and run stops last year. |

| Re: Skins sign CB Jerametrius Butler Right, and the coaching staff concluded (rightly or wrongly is to be determined) is that a lot of this was due to poor coverage by the secondary. They also feel that some of their young linemen, particularly Golston and Montgomery have shown a lot of progress in recent months and deserve a chance.

| Re: Skins sign CB Jerametrius Butler [quote=SmootSmack;316467]I understand your frustration about the move. I agree that we really don't need Butler. Unless there's some other move on the horizon; the only one that would even be worthwhile though is trading Springs for a DT/DE. Even then it depends on who we get in return. I'm not trying to make light of the situation as far as the car show thing. I know that it is for a good cause and everything. But, my ass is still a bit chapped from that pathetic showing from a defensive standpoint. And the fact that, to me the most glaring need is not secondary help, but D-line. |

I just want someone to add to the Defensive end rotation. Another DT wouldnt hurt either. I am lazy right now, Smootsmack who is the top one available besides kedrick clancy who just got released by the cards.

If you just said that you believed the weaknesses on the defense last year were attributed to poor performance from the D-Line, and that's where our focus needs to be then your post would carry more weight.

| Re: Skins sign CB Jerametrius Butler People complain that we've mortgaged our draft in the past, then when we don't profligately throw picks at an aging Dlineman people complain about that. Like Matty said, if there was someone on the market the Skins would go for him but there is not, and the fact that they have so far (knock on wood) remained committed to the draft for next year is a good development. It also suggests that Gibbs is going to be sticking around in some capacity after his contract is up, otherwise why build for the future? As for the car show stuff, reminds me of that guy last year who said Cooley needed to take his mind off cheerleaders. |

Your are correct Mod man. On the thread, we have some serious depth at CB, I would think a few might have to go....? Beats the heck out of the other problem we had last season, no depth at CB.

| Re: Skins sign CB Jerametrius Butler I agree, now it's time to start working on TD-producing depth.
