| Did the Falcons have any other choice? It doesn’t sound like the Falcons will do anything until the NFL has completed their investigation. Sorry no link, just listening to Arthur Blank on live radio. Stay tuned. |

| Re: Did the Falcons have any other choice? Blank stated that they were considering giving Vick the maximum suspension until the NFL put the brakes on that motion. Again, sorry for no link, this is live radio on 680 The Fan in Atlanta. |

| Re: Did the Falcons have any other choice? Thanks for the update, Dlyne8r. I often use NFL radio as a source and can't provide actual links. Often if you cite your source people will believe you.

| Re: Did the Falcons have any other choice? Thanks Daseal. I made another post directly after my initial thread was complete to identify my source. I'm learning, so thanks to all for your patience. Thanks also to Mattyk72 for vouching for the thread. I should have indicated that the local radio broadcast I was listening to was an ESPN affiliate. |

| Re: Did the Falcons have any other choice? I don't understand the question, the Falcons didn't do anything yet. They were told by the powers that be not to do anything until the NFL is done with there investigation. As far as the Falcons going to suspend him 4 games well I don't know if that is what the team should have done. I mean Vick should have taken the high road and sat himself out until this thing is over. Their is no need to put this pressure on the team and his team mates. You know that any interview that a team mate of his will do Vick is going to be the topic of discussion....

| Re: Did the Falcons have any other choice? Here's my take. Whether or not the punishment from the Falcons went through or not, I think it will start to set the standards higher for the teams to get involved a little more with punishing thier players. Maybe they are thinking that if they punished Vick before the commisioner does, it will A. Show the other players that they will not sit by and let thier players do what they want, and wait for the leauge to punish them. B. The leauge might take it a little easier on Vick if he's already been punished (time served). C. It let's Vick know that they don't support his actions, and he's on his own on this one.

| Re: Did the Falcons have any other choice? Did you guys hear that the NFL is going to do PSA's about dogfighting this season. It has selected some of its top players to do these PSA's. I wonder who they've chosen

| Re: Did the Falcons have any other choice? This is good. One of their players gets caught up in this and now some of their other players are going to lecture the rest of us about how awful dogfighting is. Has it occurred to anyone that the type of people who are attracted to this sort of thing are beyond the reach of a 30 second television advertisement? This is a throwaway idea from a damage-control brainstorming session. Micheal Vick allegedly draws pleasure from watching dogs maul each other and mauling them himself in turn. It doesn't have anything to do with us. Let the courts do their thing and let those of us who aren't sadists enjoy the damn football game in peace.
