If you absolutely had to win a game which Coach would you want on the sideline? I know Coaches don't play the game, but they do play a huge part in the result. If you absolutely had to win a game which one of these legendary Coaches would you want on the Sideline? Here's the list: a: Vince Lombardi b: Bill Belichick c: Bill Walsh d: Joe Gibbs e: Don Shula

Re: If you absolutely had to win a game which Coach would you want on the sideline? Joe Gibbs hands down. Anyone that can win with 3 different QB's with only one of them being good (Theismann) has done something right. Hopefully after this year it will be 4 different QB's.

Re: If you absolutely had to win a game which Coach would you want on the sideline? George Allen, the man could turn a team of losers into winners overnight. Of the choices listed, Bill Walsh - one of the greatest football minds, and he was always so well prepared. The one slight drawback for Walsh is that he wasn't as emotional a coach as some others like Lombardi, so for a single game having a coach who can press the right buttons to fire up his players might be advantageous - Walsh could do this well for the long haul, for a single game someone like Lombardi might be much better - but I'll still go with Walsh for his football mind and preparedness.

Re: If you absolutely had to win a game which Coach would you want on the sideline? I believe the cowboys won 3 superbowls using the Gibbs (Coryell system) the Skins won 3 SB's and lost one. West Coast offense is the Paul Brown's offense, I'm sorry but I would take Gibbs over Walsh any day.

Re: If you absolutely had to win a game which Coach would you want on the sideline? I like Clutches choice George Allen, with Lombardi next. Those guys got the most of their teams. Bellichik and Walsh would be next. Gibbs won with 3 qb's because he was stacked with the best WR trio in football along with a good stable of RB's and the best O line of all time. His defense was fairly solid as well. IF it weren't for Gibbs II he would have been there before Walsh on my list, but his second go around has been so so at best. Also I am not sure he should be the team president. Our drafts have sucked thus far with the exception of our first rounders and now McIntosh, and half of our FA acquisitions are busts or are currently looking that way.
