Thanks for the correction on the jersey number. Yes, it was fourth down and Arrington cowered. Taylor was stalking him all day long though. That was one of about three plays where Taylor was about tear Arrington a new one.

Thank you, Sean Taylor, for infusing a renewed spirit into the Redskins defense. Thank you for working hard to be a good person and father. Thank you for being with us as long as you were. We miss you more than anything I write here could say.

Heaven has an awesome safety in the line-up.

The Redskins are a better organization because of you. Your life was too short, but you touched so many.

You sure as heck knew how to ball, man. We're going to miss you.

Thank-you, Sean.

He went at the burglars with a machete. LOL...that's pretty bad a$$. That's why we loved him and will miss him forever.

My favorite memory of him was a hit he never made - when Terry Glenn had alligator arms on a pass thrown his way during our rout of the Cowboys in Dec '05.

RIP Sean Taylor. The show will go on, but it won't be as special as it would've been with you in it.

Re: Thank You Sean Taylor Thread...

This really brings things into perspective...

This was a guy, not even to the prime of his career, gearing up to have what would have probably been a Hall of Fame career. He had his troubles in the past, but it really seems he was turning it around, like he was given another chance. He was also clearly on his way to another Pro Bowl this year...

For a vast majority of us, we never got to meet Sean Taylor in person...yet it feels like we just lost a close family member, because each Sunday from September to January, he was a part of our lives. Whether we are sitting in our living rooms, down at the local pub, or in FedEx Field, we always kept our eyes on #21.

I wasn't sure I wanted to comment, but I'm glad I did. Thank you Sean for everything you've given us fans, as your loss is truly a sad one.

I'll raise my coffee mug in honor of a fallen comrade...and this Sunday, I'll be there, front and center to pay my respects to a hero to us all.

Re: Thank You Sean Taylor Thread...

I'm sitting here at work still not knowing quite how to deal with this. Being a Skins fan since I was too young to walk, I've always loved the game and loved the players. It is, however, sad that I only know Sean Taylor as a football player.

It feels wrong in a sense that my appreciation for him seems reduced to how he entertained me on Sunday afternoons. I loved his passion and his desire for the game. With #21 it always seemed like all or nothing - he gave everything he had on every play, and you could always count on him coming up big.

Perhaps the biggest realization in this for me, is learning about Sean Taylor, the father and fiance. We praise him for his accomplishments on the football field, and rightly so. He played the position like no one else and elevated it to a new level. As someone else pointed out, it always felt safe with #21 in the backfield. When he went down with his knee injury this year, the entire team I think felt exposed. All of a sudden we were vulnerable and unprotected.

I think what this tragic story illustrates for us is that not only was Sean Taylor our Safety on the football field, he was his family's safety. Sean died protecting his fiance and his daughter. From what I understand of what happened, he was actually shot in the bedroom as he was moving to the door to investigate the intruder.

Sean Taylor's true character is revealed, I think, in this situation. A 24-year old man gave his life to protect his daughter and his fiance. He paid the ultimate price as the "safety" for his family, and in the end he succeeded in protecting what was truly precious to him.

His actions on November 26th, 2007 showed that the man he was on the football field was not just a fluke and not just for the purpose of entertainment. He was the same man, the same protection and safety for his family, which truly transcends and surpasses any accomplishments he made on the field.

He paid the ultimate price as the protector and defender of his little girl, and for that example of character and courage we should be forever grateful and proud.

Re: Thank You Sean Taylor Thread...

A lot of us stayed up late just to hear about your progress. I changed my whole daily routine just to see in you pull through. As soon as I heard you responded to the surgery I was at peace and went to sleep. I got a text from a friend 6am stating that you died and I was stunned angry and hurt. I was angry because an innocent father and young man was on the path to reaching his max potential as a person was killed by a cowardly hater. Sean you've impacted our lives on the field, but you've also touched us off the field, and for that Sean Taylor you will be missed. Thanks for gracing us by wearing the Redskins' Jersey and being apart of our community! God Bless you Sean!

Thank you Sean. You were everything we could have ever asked for. May you find solace in the fact that your memory will live on forever and your baby girl will be taken care of.

Watch the tribute video on Redskins.com and I guarantee you will cry. Make sure you have the audio on.

Thanks ST for the awesome years you spent here, it shoulda been more. You were a HOF'er in the making.

Football aside you were turning into a man among men. We loved you here, but God loved you more.

I'll be donning your jersey today with more than just pride.

Much love babyboy.

Re: Thank You Sean Taylor Thread...

Sean Taylor is one of the greatest players I've ever seen lace em up. The guy could have put on weight and played linebacker, dropped weight and played corner or he probably could have played defense. He was one of the most amazing athletes I believe I've ever watched and I'm saddened (like GMan) that I will never wonder why he looks like he's the only one who cares to show up on defense every week.

Sean Taylor is/was my favorite player on the Redskins and I will always remember the way he played the game. He was fun to watch and he was great at what he did. I am deeply saddened by the loss of Sean Taylor and wish his family nothing but the best.

Re: Thank You Sean Taylor Thread...

Dear Sean Taylor,

I knew since the day you were drafted that youd make opposing teams respect our secondary like the days of old. You were a gifted and talented young man that has left this world far too soon. I cannot think about football and most definitely Redskins football without seeing the number 21 in my mind. Ill never forget the plays you made and the bone-jarring hits you delivered. You were without a doubt the best player on our team and as a man and player I have the up most respect for you.

You will live on in Redskins History Forever and Ill see you on the other side one day!!!

HAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Dont worry about the cowards that did this to you!! GOD will handle the situation as he sees fit.
