| Re: sorry to think this but...replacing sean taylor Well, we've been in the shadows since our last SB win. That's over a decade and half ago. I don't get it. Carma should have already shined on us.

| Re: sorry to think this but...replacing sean taylor Not that my name gives it away, but I'm a big advocate of Rock. Just as Brian Mitchell became my favorite Skin growing up (with his gritty and no-holds-barred return style), Rock has earned the new honors. My point here is to float Rock as a possible replacement for Sean, should he learn the techniques a free safety employs. It is not likely the Skins would consider such a role change for No. 31, but let's list the attributes that would qualify Rock for secondary action: 1. He is a smart player who rarely misses tackling assignments (when playing kick-return defense). 2. Rock delivers the big hits and could possibly instill fear in an opponent. 3. He can shift his running route in the open field, which would bode well for fine free safety execution. 4. Rock could still double as the kick returner. What do you think? |

| Re: sorry to think this but...replacing sean taylor Clearly I'd rather bring back Ade Jimoh for 16 games as the starting safety before putting Rock Cartwright there. It's OK to admire Cartwright for his special teams play but when the dawn of reality arrives, that's all he is - - a special teams player. If you think along those lines, Lorenzo Alexander plays offense and defense and special teams so he must be REALLY versatile. How about converting him to a WR...?

| Re: sorry to think this but...replacing sean taylor You wont find another Sean Taylor. We can't expect that from anyone. Our defense now is going to turn. We need to find another building block, but to find another Taylor is not going to happen. But damn we were blessed to have him as a Redskin!!!!and forever be a Redskin! |

| Re: sorry to think this but...replacing sean taylor Players Like ST just are not in each draft. If there is a Player even close I say pick him. That being said it's our O and D lines that need a look at in this draft. If it's a high pick move down and get more picks and get some one that can find talent not just in the first two rounds but through out the draft! |

| Re: sorry to think this but...replacing sean taylor I'm surprised, in a wr thread there's talk of free agents. No one here has mentioned any potential free agent safeties. I think pending free agency pickups, our needs in the draft are: DL, OL, WR, safety, in that order. We're deeper at safety than DL or OL. Granted, other than Landry no one is outstanding but DoughtY & Prioleau are serviceable. Who knows, maybe Springs stays & they convert him? |
