I think Todd Collins deserves alot of credit for the teams success as of LATE, but if we're talking about the entire season, then I think the offensive MVP is Portis. The reason why I pick Portis is because he's black. Oh yeah and he's the 3rd leading rusher in the NFC. He's also one of, if not, the best blocking back in the NFL.

| Re: Your MVP this year? Great thread, and extremely tough choice if we're not doing Co-MVPs. If I had to pick one, I'd have to go with Cooley. If I could pick multiple folks, I'd go with: Offense: Cooley Defense: Carter (could make a case for Sean Taylor despite his missing a third of the season and the rest of eternity) Special teams: Doesn't matter - Rock and Suisham have both been solid, but I wouldn't elevate either to MVP status. Collins doesn't get picked only because he didn't play the first three quarters of the year. In fairness, this team has had several MVPs. Can anyone honestly say Springs and Smoot haven't played like Pro-Bowlers the last few games? Portis too. Samuels? Montgomery? Fletcher? It is a testament to the team that its hard to single out one person as the MVP. |

Yes, a guy who has played in 3 of 15 games and played really well in 2 games is unquestionably our team MVP. Todd Collins has undoubtedly played lights out in the limited action he's seen, but to say anyone who puts guys like Portis above Collins is a racist is just dumb. Now onto serious matters.....I'm not sure that anyone deserves an MVP award. This TEAM has been struggling and winning as a whole. No one really stands out on either side of the ball. I sort of like it that way. In short, I can't think of an MVP.

| Re: Your MVP this year? Agreed. And Landry has been unbelievable in terms of the number of key plays he has made. Saved the MNF game against Philly early in the year, saved the 4th and 1 against Adrian Peterson and the Vikes when they were gaining momentum, just to name a few. |

Furthermore, how in the hell can you possibly know what most white journalists and white media on ESPN are thinking? Are you privy to their thoughts on the matter? If you 'aint adding nothing, don't stir the damn pot for no reason!

So, are you going to add anything to this conversation or are you here to just stir up some bullshit? If you think Todd Collins should be the MVP, then just say it. I really don't see the reason why you need to bring up race.

| Re: Your MVP this year? No clear choice here due to many injuries and players being in and out. If there was a constant on offense it would be Cooley, Portis, Kendall, Samuels and Rabach. On Defense, Fletcher, Springs and Landry. This is the kind of year where every single player including our 2nd and 3rd stringers have contributed. I would vote for the team in general and the awesome job that the coaching staff has done to prepare the players.

We can argue all day long about Portis being average. It's not the first time someone mentioned and it won't be the last. And we can argue all day about Todd Collins being a top ranked QB. But for the sake of getting along, let's just keep it about football. If Clinton Portis and Todd Collins aren't making this a race issue, then how about we follow suit? Deal?

| Re: Your MVP this year? So you're saying that Todd Collins is a top ranked QB? Really? How the hell did you come up with that one? He's played in 3 games....how the **** is he considered a top ranked QB? |

| Re: Your MVP this year? Todd Collins in not the MVP after 3 games!!!!! For the year it has to be Portis..hes helped pass protect with a mixed up O-line..rushed for almost 1200 yards..and has played just as inspired football during the Collins era as TC himself... Just to put Collins accomplishments into persepective...the rest of the team has just played better over the last few weeks.. Shawn Springs over the same span has 3 interceptions 14 tackles and has been all over the field..the team is just hot right now.. JC had 3 game spans that trumped what Collins ahs done stistically...Collins has been absolutely great but no where near MVP status.
