| Javon Walker? ESPN - Javon Walker says Denver's not a good fit - NFL I almost posted this link in another thread, but thought it was worthy of its own. The reason I say that is because of the trade history between skins & broncos. I thought we should've tried to get Walker from GB in 06 rather than Loyd. When healthy the guy can play, the question is if he can stay healthy. Another reason he may be a good fit here; he was with his friend, Darrent Williams, when he was shot & killed. He's been dealing w/that loss just as the skins have w/the loss of ST. Players here might have more empathy towards him & accept him more readily, even if he's paid more than them. I'd like to hear your opinion on Walker, and also your opinion on whether the front office discusses a deal w/denver. I like him, but I think the salary would have to come down due to his injury history. No matter what, I believe the Danny et al will at least get in touch w/Denver or vice-versa. |

| Re: Javon Walker? He's starting to earn that "malcontent" label (not happy with either team he's played for), which may be something this coaching staff would red flag. Especially after going out on a limb for Lloyd.

| Re: Javon Walker? i think when healthy, a definate player! however, just have a hard time bringing in another guy from FA to fill in at WR. I think we have to draft a receiver. We have Moss, Randel El, Thrash, Lloyd (until we release him) and the kid Anothy Mix. I like to see us get him more involved next season. the kid is a monster, 6-5 240 and runs pretty good. |

| Re: Javon Walker? I thought about this too freddy. My biggest concern is really that he has developed a reputation, from what I hear, for having a real attitude problem and creating tensions in the locker room.

| Re: Javon Walker? hmm to tell you the truth I think Anthony Mix has earned the opportunity for a chance to replace Brandon Lloyd, this guy is pretty special and hopefully Mike Espy will still be in the picture..lol i know but there is just something about the guy that i like

I would love for the skins to get a solid, if not great, wr in the draft, but given our needs, I think its a position that's worth looking at in free agency/trades. I find it kinda funny that a lot of people here are mentioning Mix, but have probably never seen him play WR. Sure he's a great special teamer, but we haven't seen him play a down as a wr for the skins. I vaguely remember him at Auburn. Another possibility that I like if we're to draft a wr is Deshean Jackson from Cal. He would be worth our #1 pick because he can return punts & kicks. I think we need to replace ARE in that role & we may need to replace Rock if he signs elsewhere. | |

| Re: Javon Walker? like mentioned before walker has had an injury history and attitude problems, plus we would have to give something up to get him, and hes not the youngest guy out there. id prefer us to go after a free agent like bryant johnson

| Re: Javon Walker? Agreed. I love Espy, if given the chance he could be our next Gary Clark. Mix is a great special teamer I haven't seen him as a receiver but my gut tells me he's a sleeper. I love both of these guys.

| Re: Javon Walker? What is this guy's problem? You've got a stud young QB w/ a big arm, great football city w/ passionate fans and an offensive coach. I think this guy is just never happy. Or he's knows that Brandon Marshall is going to be the #1 option. Whatever his problem is, I don't want another potential Brandon Lloyd coming here. |
