| Re: Gibbs to Resign as HC/President I don't understand it either! GW is the likely choice to keep some similance of continuity.

| Re: Gibbs to Resign as HC/President Yeah someone from the outside pretty much seals the deal we would have a totally new staff. I don't see us going in that direction. Williams takes over, Blache is the new official DC, and perhaps some other key guys stay as well. Minimal changes to the staff = minimal changes across the board and roster. That's definitely a good thing. But honestly, I'm still in shock over Gibbs stepping down and I didn't see it coming at all, so I guess anything is possible at this point. |

| Re: Gibbs to Resign as HC/President i can't say I am sad that he is leaving. I have thought during the season that this wasn't working. if any good comes out of him being here, it will be the attitudes of the players, the team becoming a family, and showing Danny that charachter guys are more important to a winning franchise than a bunch of over priced pre-madonnas. hopefully Greg will be names the head coach. I dont see him staying around if he isnt. He will be a person of interest for a few teams out there, and hopefully we can persuade Al that he should stay as OC. the stability of the franchise is very important. the guys on this team have really come together and started to gel towards the end of the year. if they go outside the organization it will bring new coaches, new schemes and new philosophies, which I dont think is good for this team. Greg has become a better "people" person under Gibbs than he was in Buffalo, and the players really seem to play hard for him, even when you would think they would give up after those losing streaks. |

| Re: Gibbs to Resign as HC/President Whatever they do, they need to nip in the bud very quickly. The last thing these guys need during the offseason is another distraction. They really need to get away and reflect, not think about who the next head coach is. |

| Re: Gibbs to Resign as HC/President I saw it in his eyes in that presser last night! Greg Williams will take over, mark my word! He cut a back end deal with Snyder two years ago to be the successor. Its a sad day, but I feel good about Greg. |

| Re: Gibbs to Resign as HC/President Well, at least there is one benefit. New coaches get an extra mini-camp.

People also need to realize that the man is 67 years old. With the death of ST, I bet that it really made him realize that he needs to be with his family at this point of his life. His grandchild is sick with cancer, he's away from his wife/children and he has nothing to prove. I'm happy for Joe. | |

| Re: Gibbs to Resign as HC/President What about a new team president? If we don't hire someone else will all the personnel decisions fall on the shoulders of Danny and Vinny, with the new HC making some suggestions here and there? That's a thought that scares the hell out of me.

| Re: Gibbs to Resign as HC/President No, he said there IS a clause in his contract. And If anyone thinks Pete Carroll should be considered, you need serious medication.

| Re: Gibbs to Resign as HC/President Well none of us saw this coming. The fact that he won't be back anything but a small capacity is even more surprising. Hopefully we'll get a GM so no one will ever say we need a GM ever again. |
