| Should we deal Ladell Betts??? In recent history after a running back takes on a load such as what CP took on this year they usually come back injury prone or not as affective, example CP 2 years ago, Larry Johnson this past year, Jamal Lewis after his big year in Baltimore. In knowing that do you think it's still a good idea to trade Ladell Betts and have trust and faith in CP to perform at a high level once again. I mean seriously he only averaged 6 carries a game and his pass blocking is questionable. I'm sure we could find a guy off the practice squad to do that. We've all heard about Chad Johnson and also on the Comcast Spotsnet Charlotte they're speaking of revamping the entire Carolina defense including Julius peppers. CJ or JP would be a major upgrade which I wouldn't mind experimenting with. The problem is Ladell had most value after last season but if the F.O does their job this could be the type of deal that makes a imprint on Snyders Legacy |

| Re: Should we deal Ladell Betts??? Absolutely ridiculous idea. It was bad enough that you mentioned trading Ladell and letting a practice squad bum be our #2 RB, but it was even worse to think Peppers or CJ would be good trades for our salary structure, let alone that LB would garner that much in a deal. RETARDED THREAD.

| Re: Should we deal Ladell Betts??? Everyone on the site speaks of adding other players onto the team but they never mention who we're giving up, players plus draft picks. Other then Ladell who do we have that could attract another team???? I just put it out there.... |

| Re: Should we deal Ladell Betts??? Personally, I'd like to trade the guy but after this past season I don't know how much we could get in return. He didn't do anything for us last year and you're constantly seeing guys like Ryan Grant or Willie Parker come out of nowhere to have great seasons so I'd think that most teams would want to keep their big name players rather than trading them for a hit or miss RB.

| Re: Should we deal Ladell Betts??? Ferrari, there's probably still a bit much Ladell/CP trade thread fatigue here from this past season. I don't think anyone's brought this idea up since August. Betts is still valuable to this team, and more so to us than somewhere else. Besides, what could you get for him? a 4th round pick maybe? Certainly not Julius Peppers, though I must say if that offer comes up, we'd be fools not to take a look into it. No way that will happen though. |

| Re: Should we deal Ladell Betts??? No. Portis has been injury prone, Rock Cartwright is a free agent, and Saunders is a big advocate of Ladell. No way this happens.

| Re: Should we deal Ladell Betts??? Yeah I'm a optimistic fan. But Carolina really needs a running back and I dont know how I feel about these DE in the draft, Calais Campbell might have potntial but look at Jamaal Anderson 0 sacks in 16 games |

| Re: Should we deal Ladell Betts??? Portis is indeed injury prone, Betts is indeed a good back, and it's important to have a reserve who can step in and play well should Portis get injured or need a rest. That said, if we could get a good replacement for Betts and a high pick for Betts (e.g., a high 2nd rounder), I would favor such a trade. We have more needs than we have picks or cash to spend in FA. If we can get a decent replacement for Betts, why not? IMO, a 2nd rounder is worth more than an insurance policy RB who put up 300 rushing yards last season. |

| Re: Should we deal Ladell Betts??? You know if Al is such a big advocate of Ladell why couldn't they find a way to work him more into the system this year. I said in the second 1/4 of the Seahawk game that they needed to try and run right up the middle with Betts which may have worked. |
