| Even Belichick Doesn't Know Why Monk Isn't HOF Worthy This of course goes without saying to any of us, but glad to see when others don't understand why Art Monk isn't in the Hall of Fame yet. Monk's HOF omission a mystery - NFL - Yahoo! Sports |

| Re: Even Belichick Doesn't Know Why Monk Isn't HOF Worthy I think are like maybe 100 people in the world who don't think is a HOFer. Unfortunately at least 20 of them get a vote and that blows my mind. It really discredits the HOF in my mind when someone so obviously deserving is held out. We're not talking about a borderling guy. We are talking statistically and success-wise one of the top 7 WRs ever and probably the best ever when he retired. It is really unexplainable. |

| Re: Even Belichick Doesn't Know Why Monk Isn't HOF Worthy My respect level for Belicheck just went up. I think if Monk was still playing or came on a few years later Belicheck would have moved heaven and earth to get Monk on his team. |

| Re: Even Belichick Doesn't Know Why Monk Isn't HOF Worthy Belichick would know Monk's value as well as any opposing coach - he was the Giants D-coordinator during Monk's best years in the 80's. Zimmerman's argument that Monk caught "800 8-yard hooks" just doesn't wash. Monk's 13.5 yards per catch is roughly equivalent to Marvin Harrison's 13.4, yet I don't hear Harrison get that type of criticism. Monk had the best hands on the team, made the most 3rd down plays to move the chains, and was by far the best blocking WR of his generation. And by the way, he won 3 Super Bowls. May this long-running injustice end today with his election to the HOF. |

| Re: Even Belichick Doesn't Know Why Monk Isn't HOF Worthy the whole situation is absurd- lets hope this year will finally put an end to the irrationality.

| Re: Even Belichick Doesn't Know Why Monk Isn't HOF Worthy There isn't a team in the NFL that wouldn't jump at getting Art Monk in his prime. This whole situation is so friggin' asinine that I just don't care about the HOF anymore.

| Re: Even Belichick Doesn't Know Why Monk Isn't HOF Worthy I heard someone saying on the Redskins Radio (it was some guess) who was close to Michael Irvin and even Irvin said he could not understand how he got in before Art. |
