Re: Zorn Shines The Light On QB Situation I believe Zorn has said JC is the starter from the moment he got the job. No suprise there. It is time for JC to step it up a level this year. I think he improved alot from yr 1 to yr 2. Now it's time for him to improve again this year. I don't believe he has to become Peyton Manning back there but he should have a good year. I wouldn't be upset if we took a qb in the middle to late rounds if there's one there that we are really high on. I mentioned this in the "Colt Brennan" thread, but even someone else that has some potential, but what the hell do i know...?

Re: Zorn Shines The Light On QB Situation This is it for JC in my opinion. He needs to come through period. There will be no excuse either if he gets hurt again. If that does occur then he is not very durable, hence not starter calibre, well starter calibre to build a franchise around anyway. Put up or shut up is my sentiments toward JC in '08. I am not so sure he would have gotten us to the playoffs this past season.

Re: Zorn Shines The Light On QB Situation I for one am tired of the badmouthin that Campbell has been under.Collins came in with haelthy players that Jason never had.The redskins had nothing to lose by going wide open.Jason made mistakes but he will be good. With the 700 page playbook out the window everything will seam much simpler now!!

Re: Zorn Shines The Light On QB Situation TC was good last year when we needed him, but he will do us no good this year. With Saunders gone and a new system in place his mediocrity will show. Its one thing to execute an offense you've been in for like a decade, its quite another to come in and learn something you've never seen before.

| Re: Zorn Shines The Light On QB Situation Getting put into a new offense doesn't just mean you lose all the years of experience diagnosing defenses. Nor does it mean you loose your cemistry with the players on your team. Campbell and Collins both have that going for them. Besides that, it is my understanding that Campbell thrived in the West Coast system at Auburn. Is that true?

Re: Zorn Shines The Light On QB Situation I would define ‘Get the job done’ as - doing a better job at seeing what defence is lining up against you - throwing fewer flat overthrown passes at clutch moments in games - and making sure that, when we are in the red zone late in games, doing a better job of converting it into points. I think that all those people who have endless excuses’ for JC’s performance since he got the starters job have to ask them selves why, although TC maybe knew Saunders offense better, JC was completely out performed by a guy who was 38, had only played 2 games in 10 years and has a weak arm. I don’t know if TC will stay now Saunders has gone and I don’t know if we even want to keep him but I think that his performance at the end of last season has put a huge question mark over what JC has been getting out of the offense. If he doesn’t show a big improvement next year we should have a proven Vet as cover who has had success with the W/coast system.

That being said, I would not be horrified if Collins does come back.

Maybe Campbell is a franchise Quarterback and maybe he is not. Until he has time to play in the same offense for a fair amount of time there is no accurate way to judge if he is capable of playing in the NFL.

Re: Zorn Shines The Light On QB Situation I think some are jumping the gun a bit on this supposed make or break year for JC. Yes it's an important time for him in terms of his overall development, but I don't see the team dumping him if he doesn't set the world on fire. I think he'll be fine. He just needs to build on the improvement he showed last year.
