| T.J. Houshmandzadeh??? Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that T.J Whosyamama is seeking a raise. After his impressive season, he feels that the money he is set to be paid next year (the final year of his contract) is not in line with his level of production. I've said several times that, with immediate needs at WR and DE, its a pretty big dice roll trying to draft players, at both positions, who can make an immediate impact. With virtually no options remaining in free agency, trade is a likely recourse. The Bengals, or at least Marvin lewis, have said several times that Chad Johnson is not going anywhere, despite his demands. So, let's say they are unwilling to deal the productive face of their franchise. Maybe, T.J is a different story though. The question is: Do we want him? |

| Re: T.J. Houshmandzadeh??? I think they would deal CJ before TJ simply because CJ is a bigger pain in the arse. I'd prefer that we keep going on the same course. No splashy deals, let's address our needs in the draft. |

| Re: T.J. Houshmandzadeh??? CJ has the louder mouth, but several people who deal closely with the Bengals think that TJ can be the more difficult one. That said though, he's very talented and certainly merits consideration. But I'd rather wait until next year and add him to the list of possible free agents

| Re: T.J. Houshmandzadeh??? My impression of the two... Hooshmazilly - just a general jerk Chad - a guy who just goes over the top sometimes Of the two, I'd rather have CJ, but I don't know if that's really saying much.

I made an analogy earlier that some didn't like where I compared our D line situation last year to the wr situation this year. In a nutshell, given the resources & cap $ we have, I think the front office will only draft a wr early if they feel strongly about one. I don't see them using an early pick just because there's a need. Last year, d line was an area of need but they thought Landry was a far better player than Okoye, Adams et al. I see a similar approach to wr this year. If there's not a good one on the board early that they like a lot, I see them only using late picks or signing undrafted free agents. In the end I won't be surprised if there's little to no difference in our wr corps. I would hope they see promise in a guy in the 2nd or 3rd rounds, e.g. Jordy Nelson, but it sounds like Vinny will have to be really sold before he uses a pick that high, and Blache has stated his desire to build through the draft.

i will be disappointed if there is little to no change in our receiving corps though. i actually like all our receivers, paricularly our top 2. but we got piss-poor production out of the unit as a whole last year. i think it would be irresponsible to not have any legit competition at training camp. 4 total touchdowns from your top 2 receivers is (or, at least, should be) unacceptable.

| Re: T.J. Houshmandzadeh??? On "Countdown to the Draft", when the Skins were on the clock the analysts seem to think that the biggest need for the Skins was WR. I beg to differ but with their "insider" foresight they think we are using a high pick to select a WR. They even showed clips of DeSean, and Sweed like Skins are thinking seriously about them. Hopefully all that is rhetoric. If Caldwell resigns we will be fine for the year.

| Re: T.J. Houshmandzadeh??? When we drafted Landry,he was the best player to fit our needs. We need DE,DT,CB,G,T,WR,S,LB,P (in my opinion)in that order. When we step up to the clock and if ALbert or Cromartie are available we have to shore up that need.Eliminate that need and try to pick the best for the next round. With that being said there is talent in the mid rounds. |

Good number two receiver but if he ever becomes a #1, there will be a dramatic decline in production.

PP (last two years before going to Atl as the supposed #1) 2002 94 Catches 1252 Yards 9 TDS 2001 55 895 7 TJ 2007 112 1143 12 2006 90 1081 9 Of course, we'll never know until he's the #1 guy but it's a tough transition.

| Re: T.J. Houshmandzadeh??? the Bengals offense is similar to the run and shoot. lots of down-field stuff, that inflates a receivers numbers. if the skins feel they need a wide out, do it by way of the draft

| Re: T.J. Houshmandzadeh??? well, that's perfect. i don't think the skins are seeking a replacement for santana (and i know i didn't suggest that). zorn wants to move ARE back into the slot and have somebody new move into the #2 spot. |

| Re: T.J. Houshmandzadeh??? Problem is, he wants pretty big money. He stands to make a base of $2.525 million this year and he is not happy with that. Are we really going to give him more to be our #2 or slot receiver? After the offer to Hackett (and in no way am I implying that TJ and Hackett are equals, I am just referencing what we are willing to pay a #2 or #3) I doubt the FO is willing to stretch the budget too much for this guy. |

| Re: T.J. Houshmandzadeh??? I think TJ benefits greatly from people like CJ -- he gets a lot of single coverage, something many #1's dont see.
