Re: Redskins re-sign Frost.

I like Derrick Frost..

I think he's earned his opportunity to stay and punt for us.. and I'll bet he continues to do a decent job.. It's a nice little move by the Skins.

Search the CTC NFL tickets marketplace for Redskins tickets, cheap Jets tickets, Packers tickets, sold out Steelers tickets, Chiefs tickets and premium Giants tickets. We also carry Nationals tickets, Washington Capitals tickets and Washington Wizards tickets.

In unrelated news to the thread........lol

Being it is a ex-SKIN, pretty sweet deal for Matt!

Back to the thread, compare stats Turk vs Frost, pretty darn close.

NFL life may not be beginning for punter Matt Turk at the age of 39, but it's definitely continuing.
Turk, 39, agreed to a two-year, $2.35 million deal, which includes a $500,000 signing bonus, to stay in Houston. The fact that he was able to get a two-year deal at his age shows how well he won over the locker room and front office with his kicking.
Most punters and place-kickers at his age are either out of football or receiving the minimum salary annually to play. Turk, who has punted for the Redskins, Dolphins, Jets and Rams, came to the Texans last year and had one of his better seasons.
He had a 41.7 gross punting average, but what was most impressive was his 37.9 net, best in his career. His agent, David Canter, said Turk became actively involved in negotiations with Texans general manager Rick Smith to work out a deal that ran longer than one year.

Good to have Frost back. He's nothing special but he's serviceable and he comes at the right price.

Dunno about that:

Re: Redskins re-sign Frost.

Glad Frost is back, he does a good job of getting the ball inside the 20 & that unit covers well. Punter is not exactly a face of the franchise position, but it'd be nice to have a guy stay there for a long while a la Mike Bragg.

Re: Redskins re-sign Frost.

Glad to see Frost back but it would be nice to see another punter drafted for competition.

Yeah, I hope we use one of our late picks, or go after some undrafted rookie.

Re: Redskins re-sign Frost.

Frost is a decent punter. There is a chemistry or bond between Frost and Suisham. Kickers are a different breed, so to change the holder for Suisham could send him
into a slump.

Yeah, Derrick did a great job of holding the snaps last season, I think he only had like 1 that he mishandled.
