| Re: Jerome Mathis signed OK, I will admit, I do not know much about Mathis off the field issues, but this guy is a GREAT kick returner. One of the best in the league. I for one and glad he is here. Cartwright had good numbers, but he benefitted from better ST coaching. If Mathis were doing those kickoffs, he would have done better. Of course, that is just my opinion though. I look forward to seeing what he could do.

| Re: Jerome Mathis signed No that honor goes to Dieon Sanders. I believe his 40 time was 4.18. However Mathis apparently ran a 4.1 at his pro day.

| Re: Jerome Mathis signed Yeah, I knew the Deon Sanders has/had the fasted combine time but I am pretty sure that mathis time was faster...

Jerome*Mathis, WR, Hampton - 2005 NFL Draft Scout Profile, Powered by The SportsXchange He possibly ran faster at his pro day. All this talk about his character seems to be stemming from 1 incident. Granted it's not a good incident, but who knows, the "common law" wife could have made it up cause she was being hormonal. To label the guy as poor character after 1 incident is not in good taste. Then again, if you guys know of other incidents, I'd like to hear them, and I will change my judgement.

| Re: Jerome Mathis signed I asked a friend about it, and he said there is two different times. Dieon had the fastest 40 but it wasn't electronically timed. Since they went electronic, he said Mathis was #1. So I guess both answers are correct...however, to me it doesn't matter...what does is that he is blazing fast.

| Re: Jerome Mathis signed very quick receiver - could provide some benefit in the West Coast offense that Zorn will run. I would stay with Cartwright on special teams though. I think he was second in avg KO return last season. |

| Re: Jerome Mathis signed Reminds me of Antonio Brown with an attitude problem. I'm taking the "wait and see" with him. If he can step up and be a team player and not get into any off the field incidents, I think he could be a great addition at a good price.

| Re: Jerome Mathis signed Point is, a ONE time issue isn't always true. I am in no way defending someone striking his wife, but why is there no pictures of her with a bruise or anything? Also, people that strike women, don't do it once. They are habitual. Why is it this is the ONLY case of Mathis striking someone??? Just doesn't add up right now. I could be wrong (I hope I am not cause no woman deserves to be struck by a man) but why is everyone so eager to convict?
