| Offer made on Chad (1st rd '08, conditional 3rd rd '09) ESPN - Sources: Skins offer '08 first-rounder, '09 pick for Johnson; Cincy says no - NFL This is the best thing that has happened to us in a while. I personally love Chad, but I love the Skins more and we need to keep our picks |

| Re: Offer made on Chad I absolutely love CJ -- but two firsts is just too high for him. I want him in DC, but not even for that price. That said, the Bengals are idiots to have turned this down if the report is accurate.

Of course Chad doesnt watn to be there, but I think they are better off trying to prove to him they want to win and getting him to change his attitude. Is there any receiver at 21 in this years draft that could have a more immediate impact than CJ? Time will tell...but probably not in the near term

| Re: Offer made on Chad Maybe the Bengals are willing to wait till draft day to see whats available at suitors' picks -- but I think this is crystal clear they're going to keep him. Interesting to see if he'll play this year.

| Re: Offer made on Chad Not to discredit a colleague, but I don't know that's entirely accurate. I'm pretty sure it was the 1st and a player (Betts?) for CJ or the 1st, conditional '09 for CJ and a pick

| Re: Offer made on Chad Totally, agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep the pics. The Redskins are not a team one player away from a championship. A good draft does give us the best chance to ultimately reach our goals. Is Vinny afraid he can't make the right choices? If he is, then he is correct to go after proven stars even if they are locker room nightmares. Sorry, but I am no fan of Cerrato. |

| Re: Offer made on Chad Vinny has always been in favor of using the draft more and had he had more of a say in things in recent years we probably wouldn't have made some of the moves that we did in free agency. That said, if we went after a big name WR I don't think that's an indication that this shift towards using the draft is out the window. |

| Re: Offer made on Chad I think we all agree that two 1st's is WAY too much. One, maybe. Everyone always focuses on the picks only, and not on the impact of signing a guy like CJ would have on our cap. You'd know he'd "wanna get paid" and it'll have to come at the expense of someone else not getting paid. IMO, that's what really makes this hard to do. |

| Re: Offer made on Chad I'd be fine spending this years first on a proven WR or DE, especially since the bust rate of those players in the draft is typically so high. If I found out we used our first on CJ, Roy Williams, anyone else available that is a #1 or maybe a jared allen / julius peppers -- I'm more than okay with it. Especially since it seems like rookies make more than vets now days =p

| Re: Offer made on Chad Bad offer!! 2 possible first round picks for a player who's about to turn 30 and is a malcontent. No thanks!! Please Cincy, stick to your guns.

| Re: Offer made on Chad Thank God that the Bengals can save us from ourselves. How dopey is it to come this far with all your picks just to hand them out at the last second. So much for draft disicipline. This annoys me and doesn't bode well for who they think is going to be available with the 21st pick in the draft. One week before the draft they want to heave their draft stratedy out the window, I'm annoyed.
