| Re: Who Gets Cut After June 1/Salary Cap Day?! Sorry, oh great long suffering one. Your job is hard enough. I'll stop with the sarcasm and just go back to being simply brilliant - oops, there I go again.

Also, even if we were able to do so, would we still have enough cap room for the rookies? Anybody know what type of deals the picks in the Skins slots got last year?

| Re: Who Gets Cut After June 1/Salary Cap Day?! I was about the type the same thing, except substitute 99.9% in for 97%, but I think what he was saying is that given our draft, we now have some players that were vital before that now are expendable- frost for instance (once the kid dominates him...), likely a WR as well...

I assumed that if you started a thread about it, you'd want to know if we could acquire anybody to help us. I'd say no. When GTripp and I said nobody gets cut, we meant the figurative nobody. Nobody gets cut from teams around this time of year anymore, unless they're a nobody. | |

But never fear, I do think the Skins will still make good use of that cap space. First, the Post recently ran a blurb saying they further guaranteed the 2008 and 2009 base salaries for Clinton Portis, which will have some sort of impact on the cap. Aside from that, I'd bet a lot of money that the Skins will extend a young player or two now this season in order to make use of that excess space, thereby allocating some of that money this year. 2nd round picks typically make about 1.5 million per season. | Re: Who Gets Cut After June 1/Salary Cap Day?! I think we should trade Santana Moss for Jared Allen and Antwan Randle El for Kevin Williams. Maybe pick-up Bob Sanders after the June 1 cuts. Discuss! |

| Re: Who Gets Cut After June 1/Salary Cap Day?! I'd guess we shed Mathis and either Mix or Thrash. But not around June 1, I think Zorn will take them to camp and make the decision there. That's the thing with our own players. Zorn's just getting used to them. Hell, he's having them wear nametags at minicamp this weeked. He's going to need time to evaluate them, and since there is no pressure from a cap perspective to make moves now or on June 1, I think he'll take as many guys as he can into training camp and evaluate them as long as possible before making the cuts in August. |

| Re: Who Gets Cut After June 1/Salary Cap Day?! The only thing to discuss is that this is not Madden and that we will not be trading so drastically b/c we have a good team already. I really hope you are joking because you do not sound very intelligent.

| Re: Who Gets Cut After June 1/Salary Cap Day?! I thought Daniels did a decent job of stuffing the run since the skins defense did improve the past year in that catagory. |

| Re: Who Gets Cut After June 1/Salary Cap Day?! My friend went crazy this weekend when he found out Shawn Alexander got released. He's like "WHAT? The Falcons better sign him. I mean he's better then Michael Turner." I then mentioned a few other guys who fell from grace and now he's covinced that NFL GM's are all idiots (which is part true but still). Anyway long story short he's going to make a team with Jervon Kearse, Shawn Alexander, Rod Coleman, Alge Crumpler, Warrick Dunn, and Patrick Keaney (somehow he got mixed up in all this).
