| RI: An appropriate sendoff for RFK Stadium Okay, here's Alexander's thoughts: A random thought on RFK stadium. As we all know the Nationals play in their new stadium, the DC united are looking to move when their lease runs out in, it seems only a matter of time until RFK is left empty. We hear talks of the city wanting to get the Redskins back, and rebuilding on the site, or talks of new housing development in its place. Its not a question of if but a question of when. But before the wrecking ball comes, the metal overhang falls down and the bust of Robert F Kennedy is removed. I hope that they play one more game at the old stadium. I will be honest its not entirely my idea, but rather one I have taken from a recent event in the old Orange Bowl in Miami. Which is being torn down. They had a final game in that stadium of Dolphin and U greats playing flag football. And I thought to my self they should do something like that at RFK. So how bout it? See a bunch of former Skins play at the house that joe built for a fun old time? Seeing Doug Williams throw one more to Art as 28 covers? Sounds appealing no? That sounds appealing but i'll take it a step forward even though logistically it may not be possible. How about a NFL season game at RFK as an appropriate sendoff for the legendary RFK stadium? Skins/Boys...Monday night? Sound better? One night only & all the greats on the sidelines. Is this that crazy of an idea? Fed Ex would need to be involved. There would be some lost money, but we all know Danny could afford it for one game. I haven't really done any logical thought process behind this, but it would be pretty exciting. |

| Re: RI: An appropriate sendoff for RFK Stadium Why play another when we already gave that place a nice sendoff with a 37-10 thrashing of the Cowboys? Sometimes it's best to just move on and never look back. |

| Re: RI: An appropriate sendoff for RFK Stadium Yeah it sounds good, but I like the fact that we thrashed the cowboys already in our last game there I say leave well enough alone. I do like the idea of them building a new stadium and the skins come back, maybe they put up a dome with a capacity of about 125,000 or so to accommodate the 50,000 that are on the waiting list for season tickets. Let’s face it the area is growing more and more plus a dome will make us more attractive for a super bowl. |

| Re: RI: An appropriate sendoff for RFK Stadium Knock down RFK -- start building new redskins stadium. Make it a dome that can be open so we can get a superbowl, and enjoy.

| Re: RI: An appropriate sendoff for RFK Stadium Yeah, really not a great idea. Plus it would probably cost a lot to get the stadium game ready for the Skins, and it just really isn't worth it. Also you are cutting down on attendance a good bit... more money gone. Snyder isn't going to go through all that when he can make more money doing nothing. |

| Re: RI: An appropriate sendoff for RFK Stadium No dome. Football is an outside sport. I could just see a dome being built and nothing but rich yuppies would buy the tickets leaving the diehard fans which most are warpath members complaining on here about the lack of diehard fans at the game. I dont even like going to the games now because im always being told to sit down and shut up. |

| Re: RI: An appropriate sendoff for RFK Stadium 125,000 capacity. Parking? Tail gate room? Traffic on game day? All questions that would have to addressed. Some things are easier said than done. 125,000 would be difficult to handle in the suburbs no less in the District. Back to DC does not bother me but actually doing it will prove very difficult and costly. Who will pay for it? Snyder already owns a profitable stadium so that leaves the tax payers. Just my two cents.
