| re: With Gibbs out of the picture who is now the face of the Redskins' franchise? I kind of still think Joe Gibbs is still the face of the franchise... and will be for the foreseeable future. I guess it all depends on your definition of what the face of the franchise actually is. I kind of take it is the first person you think of when you here the word "Redskins". As far as an active person, I'd go with Dan Snyder. I think the Sean Taylor tragedy kind of reinforced that notion.

| re: With Gibbs out of the picture who is now the face of the Redskins' franchise? I think Gibbs is who people most often relate to the franchise, I remember in one of these posts, counting down the best franchises in the NFL, they said the face of our franchise was Gibbs. However, now that he's gone, I think CP is trying to solidify his place as that new beacon. I believe the FO wants him there too. By asking him to stay and work over the entire offseason, and be the team leader, as well as his constant appearances on Eastern Motors commercials and the spot he did on NFL Network last night. It just seems that the new face is CP

| re: With Gibbs out of the picture who is now the face of the Redskins' franchise? I went with CP. he seems to have embraced that role this offseason. Last night on TA he even mentioned playing in the preseason and seemed ok with that.

| re: With Gibbs out of the picture who is now the face of the Redskins' franchise? I'm going with Portis too. He seems to have matured a bit and has taken on the responsibility of being more of a team leader. |

| re: With Gibbs out of the picture who is now the face of the Redskins' franchise? I put Cooley. He's on the upswing of his career, and he's a unique and charismatic guy. I would love to say Campbell, but he seems so uncomfortable in front of the camera.

| re: With Gibbs out of the picture who is now the face of the Redskins' franchise? Portis is the best known active Redskins player, but I think Snyder is the person most younger people think of when they hear about our team. Think of it, how many times have you read an article that said something like, "Although Snyder is known for wild free agent spending sprees, this offseason...." Snyder is the official whipping boy of most league observers. |

| re: With Gibbs out of the picture who is now the face of the Redskins' franchise? Don't kid yourself. Gibbs is no more of a consultant than you or I.

| re: With Gibbs out of the picture who is now the face of the Redskins' franchise? I don't see Gibbs playing much of a significant role as a "consultant". I think he'll always be there for Snyder as a resource, but I seriously doubt that his role is very in depth or involved. |

| re: With Gibbs out of the picture who is now the face of the Redskins' franchise? As high profile as the owner is, he's never going to get the type of air time or respect that the players will. Portis is currently the face of the franchise. That might change within a year, but there's no doubt in my mind that right now, no player is more identifiable with Washington football then Clinton Portis. I was watching a replay of the Wild Card Colts-Broncos from 2003, and it seemed almost weird to see Portis playing for someone else.

| re: With Gibbs out of the picture who is now the face of the Redskins' franchise? Portis is the face of the franchise. He's the engine that makes the offense go, he's the person that most commentators refer to when talking about the key players, he's the main interview that networks want when doing something referring to the Redskins. Campbell could be the guy, but he's not camera comfortable yet. Cooley is too goofy and not controversial. Zorn hasn't proven anything yet. Snyder has too much 'stink' on him to be the face of the franchise.

| re: With Gibbs out of the picture who is now the face of the Redskins' franchise? To us it may be Portis, but by definition the face of the franchise is who any typical American would think of when the current skins are brought up. That face is Danny.
