No Players in the top 50?

Top 50: Chill, New England, there's no denying Brady now - NFL - CBSSports.com Live Scores, Standings and Stats

Why no love for any of the skins. I would have put Chris Samuels and Cooley on this list. I dont even know why stuff like this still surprises me.

Why worry about people's opinions?

He has Mario Williams listed as the 6th best player in the league. Are you serious?

Re: No Players in the top 50?

Well the NFL had the top ten SB performances and Tim Smith was like #7 Riggo was like #6 and Doug Williams was #1. So we are not alwys over looked.

You have to get Samuels on there, don't you?

At the very least, somewhere between 40-50.

Re: No Players in the top 50?

Top 50 is no biggie. Watch when half this guy's list doesn't even finish the season with injuries, etc. Thing is top 50 players is sort of small when you consider 32 teams of 43 players, so with the exception of dissing Cooley, the guy isn't that far from the mark. Remeber most of their info and predictions come from what happened at the end of the previous season. After the big comeback to make the playoffs, we ended up getting smoked by Seattle and lost Gibbs. Losing ST was a human tragedy, but also really hurt the team personnel wise. Other than ST and Cooley, who were really big gamers for us last season? Collins came up big during the drive to the playoffs, but our WR corp sort of sucked, our backs did well, but nothing to garner top 50 props. Our D was decent, but again, nobody stood out as top 50 material in my opinion. Face it a top 50 list to cover 24 possible positions in the NFL would be hard to crack if you were just an average team, and last year we were rather average

Re: No Players in the top 50?

This list looks like it is based solely on last year.

I'd put...

Larry Johnson over Fred Taylor

Marvin Harrison over Wes Welker

Troy Polamalu over Bob Sanders

Chris Cooley over Kellen Winslow

But, none of those guys even made the list!

Don't hate the soldier hate the war. Idiot he is, his baller skills though are up there. Dude had a disgusting year last year and had a ton of opportunities slip by. You don't get 1106 yards without serious fangs.

Re: No Players in the top 50?

GIVE PRISCO A BREAK YOU JERKS. It's obvious that about midway throught the list he got confused and mixed up the 50 best and the 50 most promising young players.

I mean Jason Peters over Samuals? How do you explain that.

Obviously the Winslow over Cooley and Witten is ridiculous as well. Champ Bailey's metrics prove he isn't a top 10 player anymore. And how many teams would take Sims over Samuals or Cooley. Putting Charles Woodson up there in the top 25 pretty much makes him sound like a Madden fan boy.

Re: No Players in the top 50?

I dont think he did that bad of a job, maybe a little mistake here and there, but all in all he did OK....tackles are hard for us fans to grade so I don't know how you all can say to put samuels in there when there was only one tackle on his list...also, he seemed to like the young guys with potential that havent succumb to injuries yet. And all you saying cooley over winslow, what's that about? Winslow is better than cooley hands down, his stats are better, his field play is better, the only thing worse is his personality (not to hate on cooley, he's still the man).

Re: No Players in the top 50?

I love Cooley -- but I think Winslow is a better TE. The guy can do it all. He did some dumb things earlier in his career, but he is a stud. So is Jason Peters. I think Cooley beats out Witten, but people have a mancrush on Witten.

Many of the players can have an argument made for them -- but I agree. The only two players we have that you could argue top 50 is Cooley and Samuels. These are opinion pieces. I constantly hear the media hates the Redskins -- go to any NFL board and you hear the same trash. If the Redskins bring some consistency back, we'll get credit. Remember when the media thought we were going to be good every year -- then we sucked? They're done being burned by us.

We have a head coach that is a quarterbacks coach that has never even called plays in the NFL much less been a head coach. I love Zorn, but I certainly can understand where questions come from.

Re: No Players in the top 50?

Chris Cooley is an exceptionally talented and productive tight end. There is no debate on that issue.

There are other exceptionally talented and productive tight ends in the NFL - - to inlcude Jason Witten, Kellen Winslow II, Algae Crumpler, Vernon Davis and Antonio Gates. Is Cooley the best TE in the NFL as of now? No. Is he in the top five of the tight ends in the NFL as of now? Absolutely. Does that make him a mortal lock to be in the Top Fifty Players in the NFL? NO, it does not...

Is Chris Samuels the best OT in the NFC East? Maybe yes - - but also may be no. He's very good, but is he one of the 50 best players on the NFL? If you were designing a 50 man roster and had your pick from anywhere in the league, would Samuels be a guy you would write into your roster in India ink? Not on my list...

Now if you want to get me upset, how did he miss Ade Jimoh on this list. Or Rock Cartwright ...

We've got guys in the top 50 in Madden, which everyone knows is a more accurate list.
