| Re: The Redskins were the toughest 'D' that Adrian Peterson faced in 2007 Wow, that makes me feel good about our defense. The question is though why he didn't say San Fran? They held him to 3 yards rushing on 14 carries (0.3 ypc) while we held him to 27 yards on 9 carries (3.0 ypc).

| Re: The Redskins were the toughest 'D' that Adrian Peterson faced in 2007 Well we definitely shut him down in the game. After hearing that I am going to pull a Kitna and say that 10 wins is now too low a prediction for the coming season. I'm bumping it up to 11 or 12. |

| Re: The Redskins were the toughest 'D' that Adrian Peterson faced in 2007 The reason he didn't say San Fran was b/c the Vikes won that game (27-7) and lost to us (32-21). Also we held them as a team to 87 yards rushing whereas SF let Taylor run all over them and the team netted 130 yards. They probably just called taylor's number more cuz he was the better back for that game. Finally, our game against the Vikes had playoff implications and Peterson was probably amped to perform. So he failed on a bigger stage which definitely sticks with a player longer. Overall, SF was garbage too so it didn't matter that they stacked the box.

As far as intensity is concerned, Blache is apparently right on par with GW, and the players love him too. I'm not worried about our D too much with him running the show. On a side note, if a player the caliber of Adrian Peterson says we're the toughest team he's had to face, that speaks volumes. It's about the players, not the analysts or armchair QBs.

Yeah, replacing Williams with Blache doesn't worry me too much, either. He's proven himself before. From Wikipedia: "During his tenure, Blache's defenses forced 138 turnovers, including 37 in 2001, the most by a Bears defense since 1990, and accounted for 13 touchdowns (two in 1999, four in 2000, five in 2001, one in 2002, and one in 2003). In 2002, Blache dealt with numerous injuries, leading to 11 different starting line-ups over the course of 16 games. While juggling personnel, the Bears defense continued with their attacking, aggressive style that set records during the 2001 season. They forced 64 tackles behind the line of scrimmage and reached a league plateau by forcing at least one turnover in 33 consecutive games, the second longest active streak in the NFL at the time. In 2001, Blache molded the Bears defense into one of the top units in the league, producing the top-ranked scoring defense by allowing only 203 points in 16 games (12.7 points per game). His run defense finished second in the NFL and first in the NFC, allowing just 82.1 yards per game, while allowing only three rushes of 20 yards or more all seasons and only six rushing touchdowns."

| Re: The Redskins were the toughest 'D' that Adrian Peterson faced in 2007 That cool to hear coming from a stud like A.P. and not some dork from S.I. The Vikings and 2nd Giants game where in my opinion the best games we played last year. Not counting the ass whooping we put on Detroit. Beating the Lions doesn’t mean much in my book.
