The Tuna is too good to start his project of a team with a good to above average player...would look better when the Dolphins rise from the door mats of the AFC and become something. If you went to work and your boss was casually hinting that he did not need you to do what went on there, wouldn't you send them to hell with gasoline draws on... Taylor just showed emotions...arrest him! If we give him the loyalty that the Great Redskin fan base can and will offer, he will rise to the occasion. I give him 2-3 years here! | |

| re: Redskins trade for Jason Taylor (updated) While I think it was probaboly a bit too expensive, we really had no choice but to pull the trigger on this. Our defense is better than it was at the start of the day. I hate to see Daniels go down, cause I really like him, but Taylor is more talented. I just hope the leadership of Daniels isn't missed too much, cause he was a great leader on the D.

| re: Redskins trade for Jason Taylor (updated) 2nd is pretty high... but i don't mind the d-line help whatsoever. Especially with the Daniels injury news earlier today. He should be still fairly productive and I think that only helps this season. D-Line isn't really a position where he'll have to re-learn a bunch of things. |

| re: Redskins trade for Jason Taylor (updated) I would have preferred to see us give up a third rounder instead, but I guess I am fine with this How good a move this turns out to be will be up to Taylor, and how seriously he takes his commitment to the team. |

| re: Redskins trade for Jason Taylor (updated) Looked back at Taylor's run metrics (run defense) from the last three years: they're consistently bad. I guess the good thing is that they don't look any different from Daniels' production last year. But those sacks, oh boy can he rack up those sack totals. He's an 8 sack guy in a down year.

| re: Redskins trade for Jason Taylor (updated) Love this move. I was hoping the skins would have gone DE with their first rounder this year. I'll take JT over any of the DEs that were available where our original first round pick was this year in a heartbeat. Our pass rush just got worlds better than it was. JT and AC could really make for a great duo coming off the ends. Very excited to see him in action. Welcome to the Skins, Jason!

| re: Redskins trade for Jason Taylor (updated) Don't think of it as JT for a second rounder, that's kind of depressing. Think of it as JT for a better shot at winning the championship. That Redskin is going to put Romo, McNabb and that dude up in NY on their a$$e$ all season long. Opposing team QB: "Oh no! Here comes Andre Carter! | re: Redskins trade for Jason Taylor (updated) I'm with JLac here. We were in a bind--this is the best of a difficult situation. If he plays 2 good years, we got a great deal. But even 1 strong will do, IMO. Wow, Just Your Average First Day Of Camp, Eh? Man, my head is still spinning. What a crazy day. Anyway, to me, this is a move the Skins had to make. You're talking about picking up dudes who can, most likely, barely play in the NFL, if at all, versus getting a future Hall of Famer and the premier sack guy in the league over the last 10 years. (Okay, maybe it's Strahan, but he's retired now.) And Vinny Cerrato was ever-so-confident Taylor is more than a one-year rental, so that's huge, too. It was going to take a second-round pick to get him under these circumstances - the league knew the Skins were desperate as heck now, losing two DEs for the season right off the bat, including a starter. Taylor will certainly have some entertainment-type stuff he wants to do in the offseason, but with his pedigree, he's earned that right. He's been remarkably healthy his entire career - hasn't missed a start this decade - and is still a beast at 33. You have to try to make this move; there's no one else out there and it was already a very thin spot of the roster even with a healthy Daniels. The Skins had to act decisively and they did, but I'm not buying that they pulled this off in 45-60 minutes, as Cerrato tried to say, but in the end that doesn't matter. (For what it's worth, the Dolphins still will not confirm this deal as of 7:30). Good for the Skins. Guys like Chris Wilson should learn a lot from Taylor, and it was a huge gamble banking on Daniels staying healthy all year as the starter in the first place, given his age and injury history. So, how to they top this Monday? Redskins Insider

| re: Redskins trade for Jason Taylor (updated) How do you have 2 season ending injuries on the 1st day of camp. A day in shells. I think the Skins will miss Daniels presence against the run but this is a Division where as the Giants proved last year you have to get after the Quarterback. We will see a lot of draws this year. |

| re: Redskins trade for Jason Taylor (updated) LOL, wow what's day 2 of the Zorn era going to look like??!?! I like the move, we're getting a proven stud for a couple (hopefully) of years.. Don't discount Snyder's Hollywood connections to getting a little more out of JT possibly.. That'd be an interesting thing to watch contract wise, if he signs an extension or lower $$ deal, yet gets a multi picture deal with Snyder's studio.. Football-wise it's a huge win though, Taylor vs. Daniels is nowhere close.. Should be interesting around the family dinner table though with his wife being married to Cowboys LB Zach Thomas!
