Okay, so tell me this isn't arrogant.

Brett was quoted as saying, Aaron should be the starting quarterback right now...but I'm going to practice my butt off....and we all know what the end result will be.

Well, it is the truth.

Someone saying that Favre and Rogers are going to compete for the job is a joke anyway. We all know who would win, so why tip toe around it?

Great QB but I am SO over this whole thing. The media have beat this thing to death. I dealt with it for a while and it didnt bother me as much but when I seriously CANT watch a sports channel without hearing "Brett Favre" every other word, it hurts.

Exactly. I watched the scrimmage they had on NFLN last night and the 1st team Offense vs 2nd team defense, Aaron Rodgers looked like hell. He completed a screen or two but for the most part, they were anemic.

I'm pretty sure Favre has the job.

Madden has ALWAYS had the biggest crush on Favre! I mean, he made Brett FAVRE because he called him Brett FARVE one night and it caught on lol.

I KNOW! WTF is that. Saying they hate all the coverage it the biggest lie in history. I mean, there's a game on. The first REAL football in months, but, wait, wait a minute, this just in, we might've shown this clip 6,000 times already but, 45 minutes ago Brett Favre got off a plane somewhere!

You know this is going to being interesting to see how the Packers respond to this. Will they rise and overcome this adversity...escpecially after Rogers loses his first game or throws his first interception.

It will be interesting to see how they rally around Rogers.

I think regardless of how this plays out, it's going to be a season long distraction for the Packers. It's going to be tough to overcome it.

Or if they rally at all? I think the pressure of seeing them lose games with Rodgers at the helm with Favre on the bench would be a little much.

Unless they start out the gates at 4-0 or 5-1, or something like that. It's going to be tough sledding for Rogers.

Oh yeah definitely. Imo, he's got the biggest shoes possible to fill. It hard to come in and replace a living legend who might be sitting on the bench.

Well don't lump all the sports media as having one collective mind. Three are plenty of people in the sports media who think it's too much

On a related note, I don't know that Favre makes Minnesota a better team. That team is so strong at both lines of scrimmage, and clearly has one of the better young running backs in the league (not to mention Chester Taylor too), I don't think a gunslinger is going to make that team better. If anything, they could implode under such recklessness. Not to take anything away from Favre and his skills, but that's a big assumption to make that Favre will take a team built the way the Vikings are and make them better. I mean Favre showed for the most part last year the ability to restrain himself, but the NFC Championship game exposed Favre for the type of QB he is and wants to be. And it's not necessarily one that will take the Vikings to the next level.
