ps- there is NOTHING wrong with naming your price. Strahan doesn't need the Giants, the Giants need Strahan.
It's called hyperbole man. Sweet nibblets!

See above post.

But I still say, he can name his own price, the Giants can either pay him, or let him stay retired. The Giants need him, not the other way around. Nor does Strahan owe the Giants anything.

If we ever have a life-long player who dicks around our team as much as Strahan has dicked his team around the last few years and then when we need him the most his reply is "show me the money" I hope to god Joe Gibbs drives up from NC and puts a bullet in that guy's head. How about some respect, honr and loyalty to the organization that you played for your entire career. The org that made you a name. I know money is the name of the game in today's game but I do get the distinct feeling that most players do enjoy the game and have enough respect for the game that they wouldn't attempt to extort their own team.
Give me a break. It is a business, there is no such thing as loyalty.

Please, what world are you living in? The NFL is a business first and foremost. All this talk about loyalty and honor is something that keeps the fans happy. If Strahan was on the decline these past few years the Giants would have had no problem letting him go. So it works both ways.

All he's looking for is his market value. The Giants were interested in obtaining Jason Taylor for you guessed it, $8M per year. Why is it so crazy to think that Strahan shouldn't ask for the same?

Your bullet in the head comment is pretty wack.

Huh..? WTF are you talking about? I'm not sure what world your living in, but it's not the world of business!

Loyalty my ass, this is business! If the Giants call him they need him ...right? pretty obvious he's already retired. What do you expect the man to play for free OR even less than market value, that makes zero sense!

You get as much as you can in this business NOW. It can be over in one snap!

FYI.... I'm pretty sure that top pass rushers in the NFL make somewhere near what MS is asking for. Since when is that extorting??

Re: Osi Done For The Year

Sounds like Strahan cleaned his wife's clock in the divorce court today.
"Last year, A state Superior Court Judge awarded Jean Strahan $15.3 million, in addition to child support.

Strahan paid more than half the award. He appealed, arguing the child support was too high and that his ex-wife got everything she was due and is not entitled to $6.5 million from a pre-nuptial agreement. According to the opinion, the Strahans reached a private settlement about the unpaid money.

The judges today said it was unfair Strahan was required to pay 91 percent of the child support since his ex-wife, Jean Strahan, was well-educated and employable.

"Both parents have a shared obligation to support their children," wrote Judge Lorraine Parker.

Jean Strahan's "employment opportunities were, in all likelihood, enhanced by her celebrity marriage. There is no question that as a healthy, educated, 41-year-old, (she) is capable of earning her own income," wrote Parker, who was joined by Judges Rudy Coleman and Thomas Lyons.

The panel ordered a trial court judge in Essex County to reconsider the child support and to determine what needs the children have that are distinct from their mother.
"Some of the expenses claimed by (Jean Strahan) clearly should have been deleted by the court," wrote the court in a 23-page ruling.

A few of the expenses the court questioned were: that "the children" paid for a trip for their nanny and her family to Jamaica and gave their grandmother diamond jewelry.

The panel also singled out that no explanation was given for why the girls required $30,000 in landscaping, or what $3,000 in audio visual expenses provided for the girls.

The couple married in July, 1999 and in October their twin daughters were born. He filed for divorce in March, 2005. "
Note he DOESN't have to pay for the insurance policy because he is retired.

This begs the question:
"If he un-retires, could her attorneys re-open that issue?"
Don't know if this makes it more or less likely for him to comeback.

Maybe he's not as hungry as he would have been if he lost.
