| Re: Why did we keep Tryon? Prior to the preseason Greg Blache ranted and raved about Tryon saying "they realy hit on this pick". I think they realy like what they see in practice. I watched the games and he was often times in position, but did not make the play. I think he will improve. Also, I dont think they kept him because he was a draft choice, keeping nine out of ten draft picks is outstanding. Ten for ten is phenominal. Vinny is very good at picking draft choices, lets give them the benefit of the doubt. |

| Re: Why did we keep Tryon? I guess time will tell. All I know is wht I have seen on the field so far..I am going to leave it at that..If he was a little more humble maybe things would have turned out better for him. But other players that weren't even drafted or were udfa's showed up. Fincher and Hamilton came to play..Moore and Horton. I just think you can't always go by what someone does in college. You must see it against pro-level competition. I dont even recall Carlos being this bad. He heas got burnt. But go back to all the games he playe din the preseason and look at them if you have them recorded. It seems like he got worst as the preseason went on and against 2nd string players..From his scouting report on Rivals beforehe got drafted ..They said he had talent but made bad reads. I hope we can coach him up...I really do..if not like I said..he will be a waste of a roster spot. he needs to be on PS until he improves..Not on the 53 man roster..that's obvious.

| Re: Why did we keep Tryon? I still cannot believe that people are so hard on a 4th round pick who did not do well in the preseason and overlook our "1st round quality" 2nd round pick receivers who were out of shape, missed camp, and have looked like crap when one of them played. I was surprised when the team kept Tryon, but obviously the kid needs to develop. Plus we got Smoot, Springs, Rogers, and Torrence ahead of Tryon, so hopefully we won't see him play except in special teams. Meanwhile, with our WRs we got Moss (who I pray doesn't get hurt), ARE with a broken bone in his hand, and Thrash...and after that we have these two rookies who missed camp, one of them was hurt, and the one that played has shown nothing. I'm not saying that Tryon earned that spot, it could have and should have easily gone to Richardson or Westbrook, but in the end having a 4th round bust is better than having a 2nd round bust...BUT we don't know this yet b/c both our 2nd round receivers and our 4th round CB need to develop.

Saying that. I do agree with you that Richardson looked better for the most part. I am worried about our WRs. Especially since ARE has a broken hand. Makes me think they made a mistake letting McMcullen go. So we have 5 receivers and two are hurt..two are unproven rookies..(but i think they will pan out before the middle of the season - i hope). With our depth at CB. I guess we should be ok with Tryon being a PROJECT. But I am puzzled as to why we didn't keep a 6th WR since Kelly was hurt. I guess we will hope for the best until ARE and Kelly get healthy and I am sure Davis plays into this also. I am just hoping for the best..

| Re: Why did we keep Tryon? Maybe they kept Tryon as a place-holder. Maybe next Monday - - after all the vested veterans pass the trigger point so their contracts are not guaranteed for the entire season - - the Redskins will bring in a veteran CB that will put the squad over the top. Who might that be? Keep this quiet lest other teams get wind of it, but Tryon may disappear to make room for ... Ade Jimoh

| Re: Why did we keep Tryon? One of the things I've been hearing from around the fan base in regards to the rational for keeping Tryon is that everytime he got burn he was able to keep up with the guys he was covering. The problem was that he wasn't getting his hands up and knocking the ball down, or better yet getting an interception on the plays where he got burned. So in turn the pro-Tryon people feel that if he can work on that last part of his game then he'll fine. I guess we'll see.

| Re: Why did we keep Tryon? Why so much consternation over our 5th CB? The guy (if active) will see 10 plays per game MAX.. Maybe he's better on teams than Richardson.. He's cheaper than O'Neal would have been.. For all the griping on this and other sites about us not developing young talent-that's exactly what we are doing..

| Re: Why did we keep Tryon? he's young and has talent .. RELAX..i couldn't agree more with the post about building through the draft ... how quickly we forget about the bitching on FA spending and never having draft picks ... let him learn and give the guy a shot -

| Re: Why did we keep Tryon? Im with you guys, he gets the chance to develop behind some VERY good corners and learn the tricks of the trade. He just needs to learn to compensate for his size in a positive way. have him call darell green for some pointers. But overall i predict he will be a solid backup for us given time. |

| Re: Why did we keep Tryon? Playing on an Island, man-to-man is different than the Cover Two, or the Cover One schemes used frequently. Playing nickel is different than playing the WRs one-on-one as well. PS was a means to see the skill set of our younger D players. Tryon was put to the test, showed he could tackle (albiet late on some plays) but could indeed stay with his man. I agree he should not have stayed with the team, nor should Doughty, but I'm not the talent evaluator guy in the FO. I would have drafted a DE with our first pick for the past 13 years! LOL!
